Well, they're pretty good. I had a bit of a "wow" moment recently when I put the BF1 sideways into a corner. It stopped 90deg to the track and I thought I saw a bit of sideways "wobble" as the tyres were stressed so I played back the replay in slow motion and had a really good camera view of the car. I was amazed to see the flex in the sidewalls as the car stopped - very much like the real thing, wobbling it sideways.
You can see the tyre flex on normal cars if you look at the wheels-only view and steer hard left/right, especially coming from grass to tarmac with some lock.
Guys, is there any advice please on hosting on my PC and playing at the same time? Only the popular servers are the same old tracks with the same old cars are being played time after time and I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in something a little different.
PS forgive me if this has been asked before, a quick search didn't pull results.
Ah - so thats why it has been blank for me. I don't have any hotlaps to upload. With Grand Prix Legends you used to upload your player profile and it also told you wether the lap was online or offline.
Okaaay... thanks, think I'll leave that one for a bit
I used to play Grand Prix Legends and the stats site allowed you to directly compare one racer to another, even plot a graph to show your average improvements on all the tracks over time.
Is there anything like this on LFSWorld? I CAN select other players, but how do I compare them to my own times?
Saying that Roadcraft trained drivers are less safe than non-Roadcraft trained drivers is still rubbish.
I don't quite get "Saying "I'm as good as shit drivers" isn't really self promotion"
That is utter rubbish. What grounds do you have to say that? I can prove advanced driving (ie. with RoadCraft - the same technique the police use) is statistically safer.
I've been in the IAM for 11 years - fair enough I've 'tweaked' my driving style to suit me (ie. heel & toe etc...) but it taught me on hell of a lot about observation and anticipation, I can cover more ground faster than most other drivers and a considerable amount safer.
Yeh exactly. It is quite complex and requires some time to master, especially on the road/track.
I completely disagree. I've driven many many miles in a Caterham Superlight on 5 different tracks and left foot braking can help immensely in ANY car in order to bring the front end in slightly while keeping the power on. It requires a great deal of finesse but it can be done and is effective.
It is amazing the number of people who've never driven a manual 'box before, especially in the US. I learned on a manual gearbox and double de-clutching because my dad used to drive army trucks without a syncromesh. As a contrast I've only driven maybe 2 auto-gearbox cars so far and more than once have I gone for the clutch with my left foot and locked the wheels up by jabbing the brake pedal insted :P SCREeeech!!
Back to LFS, and as for 3 pedals on your controller, does this allow you to heel & toe effctively? If so, which set would be recommended?
Hi - I'm interested in joining a team. I'm based in Cumbria (UK) and have done some real racing at Snetterton (two 24hr races).
Online with LFS I'm looking for a couple of evening and weekend races. I'm particularly interested in long stints, perhaps in an endurance race. And of course I'm also looking to improve my online racing on an ongoing basis.
I'm 35 and would preferably like to join with other more mature members. I will check out your website & leave my contact email.
I have used left foot braking on the roads and on the track and I know the benefits (even though from an IAM point of view this is frowned upon ). However left foot braking within LFS reaps huge benefits (especially when you have the brake & throttle on seperate axes).
However a mate came round the other day and I showed him LFS - I noticed he was right-foot braking. He just couldn't use his left foot on the brake!
How many left or right foot brake? And if you use your right foot why is that?
Guys, mly Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP has ALWAYS "shaken" when in the centre. I can be parked up or going down a straight - no difference - and the wheel shakes from side to side. What IS that?
I'm driving the Aston National course online with the GTR cars, the winner is 3-4 seconds per lap quicker than me. He passed me after the final chicane and onto the start/finish straight with at least a good 30mph or more speed difference.
Now I try to go through that chicane any quicker, and I just touch the kerbs, and I spin out completely. However the leaders seem to batter the kerbs something awful.
I'm not really interested in the World Record videos, they tend not to help, but has anyone got links to videos where I can see what they're doing and so improve my laps please?
