Yes it did not give him much of an advantage but that's not the point.
In the hands of a good driver it could give him an edge with a close ratio gearbox.

Tweak or whatever he used should not work on a normal server.

And yes Redline servers will not put up with that sort of idiocy, we try to make the racing clean and fair there.

Quote :DevilDare So what exactly do you want us to do?

I didn't want you to do anything, it was posted just for info so those who like to run a clean server can see what these sad kids are doing. And now you can see his name you can add him to your ban list of worthless cheaters.

I don't know the answer either but I generally find changing up at about 7600-7700 is about right for me.
I suppsoe it depends on your gear ratios as well.

For getting off the line I experimented on the drag strip for a while and my quickest starts are with 6500 rpm, anything higher and I waste too much time wheel spinning. But that is with button clutch so it may be different if you use an analogue pedal clutch.

I had a look at your set seems ok, but for me brake settings are too high and biased to front.
Your set is 630nm 77%, the set I use is 580nm 71%.

When I looked at your replay I said I thought your brake settings looked a bit high. Try with my brake settings and brake a fraction earlier.

Also 4th gear is a bit high, the jump from 3rd to 4th is a bit too much.

It's hard to say for sure what the problem is. Can you post your setup.

It looks as if your brake force is set a bit high.

Also you could brake a bit earlier at end of straight and use more of the kerbs to straighten out the corners.

You shouldn't be on the brakes as you reach the apex.
You should try to get all your braking and gear changing done before you turn in to the corner.

It may be that you have wheels locked up under braking causing you to slide into understeer, releasing the brake would stop the wheels from being locked and if you are now going slow enough the grip will return to front wheels.

If you are on Redline servers and I am online (Redline Quinn) make yourself known to me and I'll see if I can help you improve.

Had a few people last week who were struggling in the mid 36.xx times and now with a bit of help they are in 34.xx times.

You are going into corners too fast. This causes you to understeer badly which you are trying to correct by turning steering to full lock.
This causes you to scrub off lots of speed, so you exit the corner much slower than you could be.

You could try visiting the Redline Racing Demo servers, you will often find people who are willing to help you improve.

Just be sure you read the rules and keep safely out of the way of the faster drivers.

I am on the server quite a bit and can probably help you shave a few seconds off your PB time. My Racing name is Redline Quinn.

Found a pathetic cheat on our server today.

Was driving XFG with 6 gears.

See replay attached if you want to ban the saddo. Was a wrecker also.

Well I took a quick look at your spr and a few obvious areas you can improve are the 1st corner and the chicane.

Brake a fraction earlier into 1st turn and brake parallel to kerb and be coming off the brakes before you turn in. At the moment you are still heavily on brakes as you start the turn in.

Also take more right kerb in the 1st part of chicane, you should briefly have all 4 wheels on the kerb there, and just as your wheels leave the kerb, turn left, in the replay you were a litle late turning left.

At the end of the main straight, again I would brake a little earlier, around the 100 metre board and use more left kerb before you turn in.

In general you need to use more of the width of the track to straighten out the bends.

I'm not sure about the setup, I have tried the Nilex set before and it doesn't suit my style of driving.
If I see you on the server I will send you a couple to try out.

Have you tried Redline Racing Demo servers?

Although the standard is fairly high there with many in 1.33.xx times for XFG, you should also find quite a few players who are willing to help you improve.

As long as you are careful, abide by the server rules and keep out of the way of the faster drivers, you should have a good time.

I can usually help those stuck in the 1:36.xx times to get into the 1:34's.

You'll see me on there most days. Redline Quinn is my racing name.

Well redline servers were working for a short while, but as of 15:30 BST I am unable to connect again. Occasionally it connects but then you get multiple messages from Airio and then get disconnected.

Strange, when you join an empty server you should see a redline information panel which you can remove by just left clicking on it (this is mentioned at the bottom of the panel)

You should then be left with the standard LFS screen you see on any empty server. From there you can select Join Race (near top left) and then select Ready (bottom Right), or go to the garage.

I have never heard of anyone crashing when trying to join a Redline Server, it's all pretty much standard setup along with the Airio addon which seems to be running fine on many servers.

Please try again and if you are still having problems Visit our website at

where you leave a message on our forums.

Try Redline Racing servers number 1 or 2, both demo.

As long as you read the rules and keep out of the way of the experienced drivers until you are up to speed, you should find it a good place to learn.

I can give you some help, I'm on as an admin there quite a lot, RedlineQuinn is my nickname.

I'd also try more than 3 laps. The tyres are only just getting up to temp at the end of 3rd lap. I usually find my best times are on laps 4 to 8.

A few things that seem clear from that replay.

1. Your line into 1st corner and chicane are not that good, you should be taking the chicane flat out. You also lose all the way down the straight from the poor exit speed of chicane.

2. You would be quicker with paddle shift, your down changes are compromising your braking.

3. Your 5th gear seems a little too low you are almost on max revs at end of straight.

4. you need to use the full width of the track to straighten out the bends more.

If you come along to Redline Racing Demo servers (1 or 2) and I am online (Redline Quinn) I will give you some help. I can usually help people stuck in the 36.xx times to take a second or two off their times.

Yes, I meant to add that to my previous message.

Are you using wi fi? if so it's often not good for games as you get packet loss.

If you are using wireless, try connecting with an ethernet cable instead.

Redline Racing demo servers use airio and we allow any driver to use XFG but require you to have 100 points to drive the XRG.
Spammers

If you have something like the Airio admin software installed you can set it to auto kick spammers after x number of messages in a certain time span.

Not sure if that was also possible with Lapper?

I see many posts on this forum complaining about demo servers being just for beginners or crashers.

Just thought I'd post this replay of a fairly typical race on one of the Redline Racing Demo servers.

Whilst you will still get the occasional crash kiddie, for the most part this is the sort of racing you can expect.

The server has either an Admin or a track marshal online for a large proportion of the day to keep thngs in order.
Racing Line
JackSun

It's the 4 key not F4 which shows the racing line.

I would not say the line is wrong as some are suggesting.

I learnt using it and apart from the red braking areas suggesting you need to brake much earlier than is necessary, the rest of it seems ok.

I have managed a 1:34.05 (1:33.90 offline) time at Blackwood in the XFG so I wouldn't say it's slow. And I have also watched drivers who are getting below 1:33.50 and their lines aren't significanly different.

I also think calling it cheating is a bit ridiculous.
You can configure the server to force the cockpit view mode and not allow the racing line to be shown if you want. So for those that want an even playing field, make sure you play on servers that disable it from use if you are that concerned about people using it.
