Quote from thisnameistaken :The enclosure is just as important as the speaker, and should be designed to make the most of the speaker's characteristics. I guess you know a lot about acoustics Jack if you're designing your own speaker enclosures?

Pretty much all sub manufacturers supply an "ideal" box design for various applications (sealed, ported, bandpass etc).

I'm also in the process of finishing off the box...

lol

Whats wrong with Hifonics?

If it does turn out to be a peice of shit it's not really the end of the world. I'm in the process of making a box for it, that just so happens to fit either the Hifonics (ported), or my current 2x JBL's (sealed).

Bolt on a new baffle and I'm away.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Not my car, but made me go "WTF!?" when I saw it, while parking my car, so counts.

1, How the **** do you mess up a wheel that badly?
2, How the **** is it still inflated?

Some manufacturers have made steel wheels with covers like that (with such "open" spokes) that look just like alloys, only you can kerb the shit out of them with impunity.

On a related note, my Mum has managed to dent the inside of one alloy, and chip another (chip as in a chunk missing... was surprised it still holds air)

5. 6000 FPSHe may have 120 Hz one :P

In the past it was limited to 1000 / 800 / 333.3 FPS in different views - this may well of changed in different versions.

Quote from E.Reiljans :Hard limit of LFS is actually 6000 fps.

LFS used to only display a max of 999.9 FPS (display as in the FPS display - may well of been more frames, dont know)
Quote from vistaman :Bump, dno where to write. But Scawen, COULD YOU PLEASE! do a multicore support for the new LFS? Im getting mad when I have high fps, going on a cruise server and then the game just gives me 50-60fps instead of 200-300FPS. I feel the difference.

I'm sure you see the difference between 60 & 300 FPS on your 60 Hz screen.

Quote from [RCG]Boosted :never ever use a "copied" windows u downloaded.
it will do more harm than good.
invest those 50 pounds and get a new copy.
just look after ur dvd and ull never buy again (till u go to a new OS).

I have to agree.

Considering what you get, I don't think £70 is a bad price to pay.

New laptop, exactly the same problem, same folders as well.

How weird.

Think I fixed it last time by re-installing.... I think...

Quote from JPeace :Not true, I got straight A's and B's in everything, but I got a D in Geography and an F in ART, yet still can get a job easily on GCSE's alone.

That was my point - you got A's in B's in most things, especially in the core stuff (Maths, English & Science).

If you got D's or below in most things (especially the core stuff) I expect things would be a bit different.

Quote from theirishnoob :
you go for a Business management position, all that's relevant is the last 2 years, providing you do a full degree ( which is what, 4 years afaik ? ) that's all that matters, that and relevant experience.

"Full Degree"? If you have a degree of course employers aren't going to ask for your GCSE's (my CV doesn't even list them), but my point was if all you have is GCSE's then yes, they are important, and employers will care.
Quote from theirishnoob :Employers only want to know what the want to know and that is weather you can do the job or not. GCSE's are so far flung in the past they don't matter ( like the leaving cert here )

Most jobs involve some sort of reading/writing & numbers.

If someone got a D-E at Maths / English I would want to be sure they would actually be able to do that part of the role. If they got a bunch of A's it should be such a problem...
Quote from Intrepid :Mind you I got As in English at GCSE and I can't write or spell for shit. So it shows how representative grades are.

English at A-Level is nothing to do with writing - it's much more advanced than that.

In the same way people complain that people who have degrees in Maths struggle with mental arithmetic... thats not the point of what they are doing.

Quote from theirishnoob :no employer regardless of how much of an arse they are cares about secondry/second lvl education, unless you unqualified. Get a college degree or you'll end up in mc donalds

What utter rubbish.

Am employer isn't going to be that impressed with nothing but BBBBBB GCSE's, but a bunch of D&E's is going to tell them everything they need to do.

AVI Demux doesn't work for me (as explained earlier).
Quote from MadCatX :According to Avidemux wiki a standard AVI file is limited to 4 GB. A newer OpenDML standard eliminates such limitation, you can enable OpenDML AVIs in Avidemux in Tools.>Preferences->Output

Awesome

However... even then it's still limited to 9000MB

Yes. But my HDD's aren't FAT32.

The software has a "configurable" splitting limit, but any higher than 6xxxxMB seems to make it divide it by 10 (i.e. 7000MB makes it make 700MB file for reasons I don't quite understand).
Quote from troy :Well, if vdub complains did you actually check if the samplerate is different? If so you may want to convert just the audio, remux it back to the file and try again.

Sample Rate probably is different - but it's not complaining about the audio (tried removing the audio totally with the same problem).
Software to join AVI files?

My car camera produces AVI video files, but splits it into 15 minute segments.

I'm trying to make yet another timelapse, but I need to join them all together first.

Normally I use AVI Demux - but it still splits files every 4GB (and I have 13GB of video - so it's not any good).

I've tried VirtualDub but it complains the sample-rate is different.

I've tried Vegas, but it doesn't seem to like the codec.

I've tried Premiere, but it seems difficult to find a right output setting that doesn't add black bars / destroy the quality.

I'm sure Movie Maker would do it - but it doesn't support the resolution (1280*960) so would add black bars which I really don't want.

Ideally would also like a bit of software which just appends the files, without having to reprocess everything.

Quote from Marin2 :Yes, it could be, with car of 800 kg.

My last car (Proton Wira, 84 HP, 1000KG) would only do 107. I think it's unlikely that +10HP & -200KG would end up with a +24 MPH top speed.

My car (MG ZT, 1600KG, 150+ HP) will only do 124 MPH.

Quote from nikopdr :how come it's a mystery? I used to own an ED6 Civic, that weigh like 800 kilos(mostly everything stripped, except the interior and the consoles, radio, A/C etc. etc.), with the D15B2 engine producing 94hp as new. I still managed to pull 212km/h on GPS, 220km/h on speedo.

94 HP, 131 MPH?

Quote from jibber :Better don't drive an S2000 then. You have to resist the urge to shift to the next gear at 6k rpm... and take it all the way to 9k. Whenever i let somebody drive the car, i always have to tell them not to shift too early...

The thing is, an S2000 makes a nice noise. A diesel doesn't. Especially at the top end.

£100 is not the difference between the laptop I bought, and the one you linked to.

Your forgetting *the most* important part - the screensize & the battery life.

WRT to screen size - text is still clear and readable even on a small screen. In terms of "real estate" (i.e. what you can fit on there) it's the same on any 1366 * 768 display...
