woah, a friend of mine, tested the psu some time ago, it did perfect, im thinking it could be the voltage from my country wich SUCKS...

hi, this is the thing, just build a new rig and when I turned on the whole thing, just a smell of fried cables appeared quickly.

all fans were working,along with the leds.
no beeps or video display.

turned it off, just checked the cpu and psu, even the gpu but they were ok, at least they didnt seem like fried or something


I turned it on again and i quicky could see the dvd drive power port smoking.
turned it off.. dvd drive is ****ing dead i think...

now, with the dvd drive unplugged to the psu, i turned it on again but there was no smoke or anything, still didnt display video or the beep sound.



Im wondering if my cpu is just dead, or it could be the mobo.
btw the mobo is an asus sabertooth and the lights were on all the time. (i could see a green and a red light)

my psu is a thermaltake toughpower (850w gold)
the gpu is a zotac gtx 470 amp.
mobo is asus sabertooth x58
every hardware is brand new, so, Im just affraid if something is just ****ed before using my rig.

someone knows whats going on here? specially my dvd drive getting dead before my eyes


I was thinking it could be a bad plugged cable or something, I dont want to buy more hardware, im broke lol, hope this can be saved

just to tell you, the owners of gas station refuses to let people make test about the quality of their gas.

I asked the question to an expert here, wich runs a radio talk show about cars, his answers was the same, max. octane was about 78 on premium gas.

Here engines dont last so long, even the bmw's dealer had to bring some experts from the factory because the cars were showing "service engine soon" they broke their heads trying to figure what the hell was the cause, off course the crappy gas...their outcome was a mod to apply on every beemer imported here.


this country sucks, you can do whathever you want, if you have enough money to pay the cops or the law itself, you will be fine.

about the pricing, the goverment loves to freeze the prices of gas when the prices get down (international), but if the price raises, they raise the price as well (even if the time when they bought the gas,this was cheaper)

you will laugh your ass if you start to find what kind of ****ers we got here...the most stupid tax, shipping taxes, we have to pay it like three times, from the country is being exported, from here to let it enter and to the customs officers.... damn...

The basics list of shit that can go wrong when having this type of mods done;
Ripping off bodykit/sideskirts on potholes/driveways/speedbumps
Scraping the exhaust and anything else under the car.
Rubbing the inner liner of your guard (Sometimes bad if the wiring loom travels through there)
Cutting away at the tyre
And in some cases, the tyre can catch the guard and shred it.

Mechanical wise theres not really any issues that can arrive unless you're dodgy. (Say...putting 30mm slip on spacers lol)

so, you mean, if I buy a brand new car and apply this modd (properly and perfectly done) I wont lose my warranty from the manufacturer (suspension warranty)??

Hello, I just did a research in this section about the new fanatec wheels (CSR) and didnt find so much info or feedback...

Im really interested in this wheel, I was about to get a g27, they are so cheap now, 250 us$ brand new is not a bad deal, but the fanatec could be used in PS3, 360 and PC...

Im interested to know if this wheel would bring a realistic experience like the g27, or even better experience, another thing is, the CSR-E is not the same thing but with carbon fiber details wich makes it more expensive? or does it have some hardware than the standar csr doesnt feature?


I want a wheel that feel realistic with lfs and I could use it like a real life one, I mean the lock-to-lock angles and feedback, i want the more realistic possible...

well, I live on a caribbean country, here the average temp is about 25 C° to 35°C now in summer...
