Have you ever tried to administrate a Demo server?

Have you ever seen a bunch of kiddies chatting words I never knew before, swearing in the worst way against "normal" guests because they are faster or the just have fun with it?

I mean those guys the have several thousand Demo licenses and if they got banned on one server they move to the 2nd - or just change the license?

If EQ could code that I would be happy if Airio could format the hard-disk on the computer of such a kiddie!

Don´t tell me, that I am a bad admin! Even with a lot of team mates and other friends with the right to kick/ban it is not possible to cover one server 24/7 - of course it is more impossible to manage 8 servers then.

So I am happy with the possibilities Airio gives me!

As the title says: This must be a cheat - no doubt! But how is it possible to do such a time and it is saved in LFSW ?????

Well seems my internet was a bit laggy as I hit "Post Replay" and nothing happened... then I saw the lock and thought I might have to register or something else...

Well then this display card is not worth to buy... I have different resolutions for my displays and of course I don´t want to buy an extra adapter which costs as much as the card itself.

However I am even not able to run SoftTH with different resolutions

Either the whole picture is moved to the left, or adding sideExtraWidth=640 (1920-1280=640) I get a total crash with a blue screen

I guess I have to stay with single screen and will unmount the 2nd display card...

oops... I searched all options several times... lol

Ok.. I tested around a bit with multi screening...

- Spanning LFS over 3 Displays in windowed mode only gives me around 20FPS when I am alone on the track - unplayable with a huge starting grid.

- Spanning LFS over 2 Displays (the 2 connected to the 16x PCIe Card) gives me about 100 FPS in the middle of a race - at a start with about 10 cars I am falling down to 40 FPS

- using SoftTH with 1280x1024@32bit for the center screen and 1024*768@16bit just gives me about 60FPS in the middle of a race, but just about 20-30 starting with about 10 cars. These low FPS at the start are undriveable for T1...

I also tested around with AA and AF until I switched them off - only increases the FPS by 2 or 3...

So I guess something else is wrong with my rig - even a low-end PCI card should to the job for the 3rd display according to the SoftTH forum...

In FSX I cannot see any FPS drop using 3 displays - and I didn´t even change the resolution or colour depth of the side screens!

However... I will go on testing, now I just bought a new FullHD 23´´ wide screen... I have to play around with SoftTH to get all 3 working in the correct resolution.

Anyway, I still have questions:

I believe that my rig should have enough power to run LFS with 3 displays in a good speed:

GA-P35-DS3p, 1st display card (PCIe 16x) NVidia9600GT 512MB, 2nd display card (PCIe 4x) NVidia 7600GT 256MB, 4GB RAM, Q9550 and Win7 Ultimate 64Bit...

I adjusted the BIOS to boot the 2nd display card first, because else my second OS won´t boot with 3 displays activated - but I don´t think that´s the problem, because changing this settings to normal has no difference.

I also thought about buying a ATI HD 5770. This one should be able to handle 3 screens at once. Can anyone confirm that this card really can handle 3 Displays and that I can use them as Multidisplays in LFS? I read somewhere that you need an additional adapter which costs as much as the display card itself...

How does the championship thing work? I would like to do practice 24/7 at my server. I also should be possible to collect experience points to be able to drive faster cars later. But 3 times a week I would like to do about 5 or 6 sprint races in a row and the points of these sprint races should be counted as a championship. So at the end of the week I would calculate the result of all 3 sprint championships to have a winner. Better of course would be if it would be possible that Airio would calculate the points of all 3 championships...

How can I activate and end such a "championship" automatically at a special time? I could start it with a scheduled command, but I cannot end it with a scheduled command, because I would never know when it will be finished... Also how can I see the results of the championship?

Does anyone have experience with the th2go? I understand, that it creates one big display on one display connector, which may be great for LFS and FSX.

But in Windows I like to have 3 separate displays... Is it possible to do that too, or do I always need to plug my displays in the th2go for playing and in the display cards for working?

I tried softTH but it makes LFS crashing a lot at Win7 64bit and FSX crashes too sometimes. And my 2nd display card is connected to a 4x PCIe slot which causes a big frame rate drop (20FPS at start in LFS - I usually have about 100 at start).

Or can 15 guests connect and if an admin wants to join someone gets kicked - if the server is full?

Hello... different question - different thread...

Well I can see in the server cfg that I can set up to 8 Admin slots.

On a Demo server I can use 15 slots - and 12 guest can race, right?

If I create the maximum number of 8 Admin slots, will the amount of 15 "normal" slots be reduced to 7, or will the amount be increased to 23?

To use the Admin slot on a server I need to fill in the Admin pass, right? Or is it possible to use an insim to give someone the right to use the admin slot without giving him the admin pass?

Do I "slip" into an Admin slot if I am connected as admin on an almost full server and some more guests join?

Our Demo servers are always full. But counting the connected racers I only count 14. But it should be 15, right?

We also renamed the "host".

Could this be the reason for this?

The "fuel" warning symbol does not work and it would be nice to add a further button to the GAP buttons showing the amount of pit-stops done by the guy behind or in front...

Well in this sample I indeed turned AA off. But turning AA on only would have taken much longer to render - but it would have looked the same ugly way.

Anyway, I deleted the "ugly" cars, duplicated the good one again and it worked...

Well, I now would like to alter the rims etc. But where to find good rims and brake disks, etc? The pages linked in this thread only contain .max files and it is not possible to import them, isn´t it?

These are 3 XFG and 3 different skins. If I select the ground layer too, the middle and left car are only black...

I have a lot of 1024x1024 skins. Is there a way to interpolate them to 2048x2048 to increase the quality?

When I render some of these skins some advertisements are bad readable and I thought recalculation the skin to 2048 might help a bit...
