Quote from greygoose0076 :either that or one of the front wheels locks up on a 4wd car.

Since when did the demo include 4wd cars?

I'm gonna have to agree with the above poster. That was unfair on your part.

Supercars with 600 hp already have trouble putting power to the ground.. I don't want to know how hard it is to control the throttle on something far lighter and with just 1 powered wheel

Quote from Btoryo :DOnt take off cut throttle cuz that would be unreal and kinda cheating. Try to keep your throttle as long as possible. And ideas on the top might help.

It would actually be more realistic. Caterham kit cars don't magically cut the throttle when you upshift either

Quote from Falcon140 :TC in all cars and IBL on all tracks using the wr laps.

Please, no TC on any more cars! I think it should be removed from the FZ5 too. Who really needs TC on that car?

Quote from JeffR :Corvette Z06's 1st gear is set to redline at 61mph. A Caterham CSR 260 is also normally set to redline around 60mph. In the case of a 190hp LX6, you'll probably use 2 gears. The shift time is significant.

That's for a real-life manual car though. Shift times in LFS are rediculously short for the road cars.

You can't do that, it's photoshopped...

I love driving the FO8, on both small circuits and large ones (from FE Club to Black). Truly a pity there are no populated servers for it

Quote from filipvdv :The cars as they are are ok, but off course some more powered rwd cars, or lemme refrase this, lighter rwd cars would be nicer. Real life rx cars are like bombs on wheels. Ultra light, and accellerate like hell. A good example of finger licking RX in real life is the Volvo Cup, or Internationals Cup. High powered rwd volvo's, bmw's ... This is the creme de la creme for me. Div 1 off course if phenomenal too.

Ever tried rallyx with the LX6? Fits your criteria: light, powerful, accelerates quickly, and a bomb on wheels indeed! It's a challenge to drive that monster around a rallyx track, especially if you're racing with lots of other people.

Quote from Primoz :duke the bugatti has an 8 litre W16 engine. Talk about smaller displacment illepall

And i didn't know the lister is FR. It is?

The Bugatti Veyron's got the massive W16 engine, but the EB110 has a 3.5 quad-turbo V12.

I've been practising the BF1 w/o TC on Fern Black for some time now and I'm doing pretty well. It's a lot of fun, adds a nice challenge. Definately improved my throttle control.

Quote from Jamexing :Baja buggys aren't exactly track cars. Their off road tires would be horrid in circuit use. Of course, they'll eat up almost every other class of 4 wheeled off-roader in pure speed, but that's another matter. Unless they have their suspensions retuned and reshod with tarmac biased tyres, you'll be surprised how badly they'll struggle on a twisty road track.

And last time I checked, modified production SUVs doing 120km/h and jumping over sand dunes in the Paris Dakar Rally isn't exactly slow motion.

Yes, but for example the Porsche Cayenne's stock tyres aren't very well suited to offroad use. In either case, it's not that hard to put other tyres on and I don't think retuning the suspension will be all that hard.

As for the modified production SUVs.. well, they're modified too, aren't they? (not sure to what extent though?)

Quote from Jamexing :Last time I checked, Porche Cayenne Turbo S's ate Porsche Boxter S's on the track.

Truth is, there are currently NO circuits in LFS that would even stress a normal production SUV. There are NO circuits or tacks that suit any form of off-road vehicle in LFS yet (hopefully).

And last time I checked, Baja Buggies ate Porsche Boxter Ss around the track and pretty much everywhere else!

I agree about the lack of nice off-road tracks though.

Who cares about big, slow SUVs? I'd rather take a Baja Buggy out for a spin

Pfff.. real men drive the BF1 without TC and downforce

Quote from Bob Smith :A true LX8 would not have downforce, so wouldn't be able to compete with the big GTRs. It would own the FWD GTRs. Which is fine. I'd really love to drive one of these, especially since my Dad bottled out of building one a few years ago.

IMO the car looks better with the spare at the rear.

I'm pretty sure there have been Caterhams with downforce. I don't see what's stopping anyone from slapping some wings on it

Quote from Vain :Sometimes we can switch to the GTRs or a singleseater too, but in normal trackday practice they would be quite a hassle to the slower cars.

I think this is the other way around. The slower cars would hold up the faster ones. But that's the choice you make when you take the faster cars. That's fine, don't you think?

That Suzuki rally car looks insane. Those are the biggest wings I've ever seen on such a small car.

I love this program. Makes the BF1 and FZR feel that much more like brutal racemonsters. My only complaint is that the FZR does not generate much sound before the shifting point. Only near the shifting point and after does the awesome noise truly start. This is annoying, because I keep overrevving to hear that nice sound
