I prefer to see the new GTR as a jack-of-all-trades. It's a street car with some element of luxury and performance at a great value. One of the test cars were spotted at a gas station not far from here (Indiana). I think they were testing it on the US highways and headed to Detroit. My friends chased them until they stopped at a gas station. Unfortunately, the Nissan guys didn't speak a word of English lol!

Sometimes the master server wont register a server and you have to restart it. I know with our servers, whenever I restart, I do it twice. Think of it as the first time as a "reset" and second time as "start".

I think the 2 F16's flying overhead is from the USGP in Indianapolis. I know this because they flew right over my seating section after the national anthem! It was amazing.. just amazing.

I think it's the "big pimpin" feature. Now all you need is chrome spinner rims and you'll be stylin'

[DSR] is back with an exciting new series! The car is a Formula BMW but with a "spec" set derived from the one used in the real-life series. Minor adjustments can be made as long as they are allowed by the guidelines. This ensures a standardized yet competitive set that emphasizes on driver skill. Qualification is knockout style with only 1 lap to get your time in.

Scavier, THANK YOU for a FANTASTIC PATCH! You guys are taking this sim in the right direction and our team is very happy with the level of realism and driver involvement.

To the whining schoolgirls, you need to quit the pathetic comments just because you suck. Heck I'm slower too but it's because I need to get used to physics & algorithms that are a closer match to reality. What better incentive is there to adjust?

[DSR] is an established racing team with former and current world record holders including EhnicO, kartracer (Sizzle), Taavi(EST), delusion_xhpb, smack and others. We are looking for a designer who will develop skinpacks for the team and possibly renders as well. The team designer will receive due credit and the highest form of recognition, if not more. Real world tracks would be a fantastic addition to LFS. If people complain about flaws, just ask them to go to McLaren or Williams and purchase their simulator for a few million dollars (which still aren't 100% accurate).

You will always have critics when there is new development, so that's not a good/bad thing but a naturally occurring event. Taking one step back and looking at the big picture.. I think real-world tracks will attract more people to LFS hence more revenue for the devs thus making the effort worthwile & cost-effective.

I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for some sort of a "Level 2" upgrade with real world tracks (S2.5?) I'm sure many who criticize now will also go for it.

Besides just having new tracks, you have consider one more thing.
The intrinsic and emotional value. People will now feel connected (even if loosely) with their favorite moments in motor racing at another mental level. That's a priceless experience, in my humble opinion.

Issue: Lapper keeps dying every couple of days without warning (no debug message, no log message, just a clean exit) with mono v1.2.4 on Linux 2.6.9. I can't seem to compile it with mono either, keep getting various error messages. Any ideas?

Hi! I just wanted to say your program is a lifesaver for our current Sweet16 Series. However, I noticed something odd. When combining mpr's from 0.5X and 0.5X10, the racers separate (due to 0.5X10 using S2 license name and 0.5X using in-game names). Is there a minor tweak to make the 0.5X stats compatible with 0.5X10 using just the S2 license names? If not, it's not biggie, there's always notepad and a calculator!

Dark Side Racing will host a 50 lap XFR/UFR endurance race at Blackwood GP. It is OPEN to the public. Clean racers only, no exceptions. Replay and stats will be archived on our website. We welcome clean & enthusiastic racers from all over the world. Hope to see you there!

Four new members have been initiated into the team. Their activeness on our server has been extraordinary and each of them bring a new and interesting personality to the team. [DSR] Gabaaa is our second Dutch sensation who gives live updates on the weather in his area. [DSR] AlPayson is in a jazz fusion band that plays all over the nation attracting large audiences of fine females. [DSR] Delusion is a fellow autocrosser who modifies and races his car with track times that will make you go "dammm!!". Finally [DSR] Sage is the black belt martial artist who karate chops his desk in half everytime he spins out (that's a lot of desks) The team congratulates the new members and looks forward to many great memories!

Point System
1. First place gets 20 points, 2nd place gets 19.. and so forth.
2. Only 3 out of 5 races will count towards the final points. This gives a sense of flexibility and strategy to the league races. In the event of a draw, the racer with the highest points in the 4th race will win. Therefore participation DOES matter in the case of a draw.

Might I add that Red Line is also a brand of synthetic motor oil (www.RedLineOil.com), which I use for my manual transmission.. man that oil is good.

There's no doubt "bad servers" is a bad idea for a topic. What makes a server good or bad are the racers. If these good clean racers come back, it's because they admire/trust the admins and/or like the server management policy. So usually a full server with clean racers over a sustained period of time speaks for itself. Hence someone who defames such a server is actually misleading the community. Don't get me wrong. DSR isn't utopia or 100% crash free..lol.. sometimes we miss the crashers because we're too busy chatting away about philosophy, politics, racing, sex, etc..

Oh yeah and he retracted his application for personal reasons, keeps u guessing huh? He's a real cool cat!

I'm from DSR and the one who banned him. Would I do it again? Heck yes! Demo servers are nuts and an admin can go insane trying to keep the place in order. We pay for it ourselves to create a healthy racing environment, promote good sportsmanship and give LFS a good name to encourage people to buy S2. We are not trained professionals and don't have hours to debate and justify our actions. Mistakes are made (we are human), people get sad.. but that's life. Plenty of other servers one can go to.. and a ban on demo is not infinite so a ray of light does exist to come back.

Personally, I ban many many people everyday because I have zero tolerance for idiotic behavior. A race is very delicate and hazardous driving can ruin it for all the clean racers. I don't ban slow drivers if they are respectful, courteous and don't obstruct oncoming drivers.

Every admin has a different level of tolerance, perception, etc but we trust them completely and know they had a valid reason to do what they did. Trust keeps us in unison.
