Taken from Forza Central

Quote from Shelby_Guy :New things mentioned:

-208 Cars, not 175.

-100 Houses, not 99.

-Players pay for car damage.

-You can filter the type of drivers you want to see online (Aston Martin Owners, Ford Owners, etc.)

-President is responsible for managing the club, but responsibilities can be assigned to other members.

-32 Members is the max for a club

-Can only be a member to one club at a time

-Owning such a place as the Yacht offers more "activities".

-Level Cap @ 60

-@ Level 10 you can access the Airport to go to Oahu

-Oahu has been expanded with an additional Asphalt/Off-Road Trails

-Yacht can be docked at either Island

-Game has something called "Cruise Chains", a small HUD that pops up as drifts, jumps and other "daring" feats are chained together, racking up money in the process. Hit something, though, and whatever's been earned during the chain is forfeited.

Quote from Vegas Las :Maybe you can try to do some "sun reflect effect" on the K.Kliaudaitis car on the front right tyre, like this : http://www.gefleetservices.be/images/Tyres.jpg, you see ? Just an idea

Is this any good? I don't really know how to do it properly

Quote from brandons48 :So is this what happens when a sequel of one of the best selling games of all time is revealed.

"It looks shit. Won't play it."
"They've ruined it. Boycot!"
"No dedicated servers? Won't play it!"

Then it's released.. and guess who buys it.

Lol that's so true, I couldn't careless who makes it or if it has dedicated servers, I'll still buy it since I like the CoD series..

I didn't feel like making a new thread, so here's my problem,

Playing on Bad Company 2, my SLI GPU usage is extremely low?

GPU1-40% GPU2-0%

I'm guessing this is a problem with the game but Im sure its possible to fix myself with different settings

My game goes from tiny green bars to more than half filled, it jumps like crazy, but most of the time it is quite small, so according to this image my CPU is holding my graphics cards back?

When I change the in game settings the GPU Usage goes up to GPU1-70% GPU2-0% and very bad FPS,

So is anyone here running SLI and can help me out here? Im using Nvidia recommended settings, I shall try the other settings now to see if I can get the GPU2 to actually run

Thanks

Edit!- Ok I got it working, I reseated the cards and the SLI Bridge, then I read that it cant read the usage unless the Core Clock is at a certain clock, so I put both cards to 700, reads fine now,

Woah that does look like a cross between Battlefield and CoD , It does look like it could be a very good game, lets just hope they get it right

Quote from Luke.S :Ok so that time has come. I have almost filled my 500GB hdd. So i'm looking for a well priced 1TB hdd that I can clone my HDD onto. (since it is supposed to be easier than installing again.) This is the cheapest I have found. http://www.tekheads.co.uk/prod ... MB-Cache---OEM_12783.html

So with this the cheaper the better as I have just spent £115 on a Phenom 2 955 (It was cheap so I went for it)

Heres a 1TB Seagate,

Quote from brandons48 :Anyone else noticed that since skiper has started posting in the competition, all the threads have been filled with bitching?

Check all the threads before "Rally in motion" - No skiper, no problems.

Yep, I guess he cant read the rules correctly, nor some others

Come on guys, don't get this competition stopped

Headphones arrived today, I haven't really tested them enough to say if they are better than my old Sennheisers,

They fit well in my ears better than the Sennheisers, although the cable feels plasticy and not as nice as the Sennheisers..

I will give a update after I've listened to them long enough

Quote from anik360 :It won't matter if he overclocks his cpu or not. If both are a bottleneck it WILLNOT matter if he overclocks his processor. Since both are slow he has to overclock both of them or get something better which The OP is not going to get. For example: My old pc with a q6600 and 8800gt on GTAIV. To test for bottlenecks I lowered the res to 1024x768 and lowered every detail. the fps difference between 1680x1050 and 1024x768 was 10 fps. I use my improvised rule of the thumb that both were bottlenecking. Not only gtaiv use cpu to render complex physics and gemetry but also uses massive amount of gpu mem to render textures. now on my new i7 860 rig with (newly stable) 3.6 ghz and 5870; when put through the same amount of tests the fps difference was noticable. 50-70 avg to 80-100 avg. bottleneck isn't a key issue there. So in conclusion if the OP wants a sufficient boost on fps both the cpu and the gpu will have to be overclocked thus putting more stress to the parts and judging by the knoledge not very informed about how voltages, multipliers and fsb works. Encouraging this will make his pc much less stable. Hope that helps

EDIT: Oh and one more thing if anyone brings a q about sli here; 512+512 does not = 1024. SLI and also CFX uses the vid mem. of ONE gpu, no additive thing going on here.

Mmm, I guess I will wait till I get a new Graphics card

Thanks for all your help anyway!

Quote from morpha :Lowering your graphics settings means lowering the load on your GPU, allowing it to render more frames in the same amount of time. However, if your CPU is the bottleneck, your graphics settings are irrelevant.

Ok, I quickly tested it, between the settings I use and the lowest, there was about 10-20FPS difference, considering I usually use 1920X1200 and went to 1024X768 thats not alot

So I still guess my GPU's are a bottleneck

Quote from morpha :Turn down all graphics options and see if your framerate improves. If so, the gfx card is the bottleneck. If not, it's the CPU.

I didn't quite get that, If the framerate goes up my GFX is a bottleneck, if it stays the same its CPU?

Quote from morpha :You realise that if your gfx card is the bottleneck, overclocking your CPU will have exactly NO effect at all?

How can I see if its a bottleneck? lol

Quote from Forbin :Still no mention of what apps/games the OP is running. If all he's doing is playing games, he's either completely limited by his video card, or getting such astronomical framerates that more performance is pointless.

Sounds to me like he just wants to enlarge his e-peen.

Not trying to be a jerk, just putting things in perspective.

Well boosterfire pretty much said it all, a new graphics card would cost a lot more than overclocking my CPU

Do you really think If I was getting good frames I would bother overclocking?

If you must know its mostly the newer games that are more CPU demanding, such as Bad Company 2

Also just things like converting videos..

If I can get extra performance for low cost then why not?

Quote from Syfoon :I'd say. I'm running at E5300 2.6GHz @ 3.6GHz, and I'm getting 31c idle, but with slightly higher load temps, but on the stock HSF.

Have you tried Core Temp for temperature monitoring? I found Everest gave wrong results...

Try 400 x 9 with vCore at or around about 1.18750.

Well Everest, Realtemp, Coretemp all give the same temperature readings, 1 degree up and down,

Maybe I will reapply the thermal paste again as I did use a bit too much

Edit- Mmm, I will wait a few days as there is apparently a 'Break in' period, which temps can drop 1 to 5C, so I shall see in a few days :P

Edit2- I went for a OC, Im currently at 3.26ghz, idles at 36/43C, full 43/50C, that was playing a game, I had to knock the voltage up to just under 1v,

Will try and get to 3.6, then maybe 4.0 if i can?

Trailer was great, just ashame the driving physics look pretty lame, I did like the rain driving and the offroading

Will still get it, even if the physics suck

Quote from boosterfire :Thing is though, you're not getting 90+ fps everywhere, unless you have the most up to date computer (which people don't have). Overclocking an older CPU might get you a boost good enough to allow for better applications to be run on your computer. That's true especially if you overclock the whole computer.

Besides, it's mostly free, unless you spend money on expensive cooling, and luke only spent around 30$ worth of cooling. Considering that buying a video card would be over 100$ (at the very least), overclocking becomes good for the money. The risk, if you know what you're doing, is really minimal. I don't really hear often of people breaking their computers with overclocking. When I do, it's always because of abysmal, beginner errors.

Now, luke: are those temperature under cpu load?

No they were at Idle, Its currently at 35/42C Idle, 42/49C Load, They are abit higher than I expected

Quote from Forbin :What do you expect to gain from overlocking your CPU?

Well I have seen from some benchmarks that in some games there is a good extra FPS, also in things like video converting or rendering it speeds up the time taken to do them, I bought the cooler as my PC was quite hot anyway and I wanted to cool it down, while doing this I thought I might aswell overclock

Recieved my Cooler today, fitted it..

Still very confused as to why one of my cores is much higher than the other?

Overall Im happy with the results, as all my components are cooler now

Now its time to OC
