Lol I am the opposite of rich man!!
I am a uni student, on top of that I own a rotary that chews through the juice (petrol), I am constantly broke lol!
But, in the holidays and weekends i work my ass off to be able to buy shit like this and fund my car/rent/bills etc.
oh, you should see my old pc (laptop, 5 years old, 16mb graphics 128mb ram etc), it took me 5 years to upgrade hahah!
Hi, thanks for your help. I thought at first that the power plug wasn't in properly, so I double checked and it was fine, the wheel wasn't doing the calibration routine when plugged in.
I used button steer for awhile then i thought that that is pointless, i bought the wheel to steer with the fricken wheel lol.
Then I mucked around with my usb hub settings and it recognized the wheel and did the calibration thing, then i re-installed the profiler and re-booted the comp, it worked!
I don't even know what i changed but its working so i wont touch anything!
Also when installing the profiler and where you have to test all the buttons to see if they are working it isn't even recognizing the steering, all other buttons work though.
Is my wheel stuffed? It's being used less than 1 hour...
Hi,
For some reason I can't get the steering axis to work in LFS. accelerator, brake and clutch al work but steering wheel doesnt work at all. I have tried re-installing the profiler software and even tried it with no profiler but no joy.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
It was working on my old computer which was also windows xp sp2, but i havent got it working on my new one.
hey, great suggestion. will try that. i just set it all up again and used some non slip matting on all the clamp feet and on the desk, its much better bit the wheel still needs to be more secure.
I will need to consult with my friend regarding this.
All up it set me back roughly 2300AUD$ sourcing the parts from different shops and building it. Havent compared the pricing to computer shops but im guessing it is slightly cheaper.
oh, obviously the monitor is not included in that price. that was like an extra 964AUD$ lol.

I've being playing on deserted servers as i'm very new to LFS. The people who do join are very nice and sometimes they give me some good setups.
It's more fun than hotlapping because i usually just choose the practice mode to try and beat my pb's, dont have to record a replay to get my stats up in hotlapping either. (they suck btw).
and try out new setups etc.
I can't really race more than 1 other person right now because my computer is shit, lags really bad lol, but i'm getting a new one very soon that that will solve that problem.
+ a steering wheel, using kb atm.
P.S O.T but is there any good learner servers (blackwood) that have some forgiving drivers and laid back atmosphere?
