I'm an idiot when it comes to consoles. I'm on xBox, an old 4 GB unit. How do I know if I have any updates for GTA? I don't see anywhere where I can start Online play. I'm assuming that the update was the online play and contained other SP stuff from what I've read. I don't care about online, I don't have xBox Live and don't play online, but I thought there was updates to single player. How do I know? My xBox went through a lot of updates before I could even install GTA.
Oh snap! Just picked this up last night. I didn't realize you had to install it. I have an old 4 GB xBox I thought it would still work with the jetliner sound of the disc spinning and play off that...
New game and it had to sit there on top of the TV stand staring at me all night long. I only have an 8 GB memory stick which formatted to 6.7 GB.
I live way out in the middle of nowhere. Not easy to just run to the store and pick up a memory stick or hard drive. That's an all evening excursion.
What a bummer. Only 7 more hours til I'm home with a 16 GB memory stick.
I still don't understand how families deal with these outrageous cell phones. I have 4 old cheap chinese Android phones on prepaid that costs me $5/month for each phone since all we do is use them for texting. Phone calls are $0.10/minute for our maybe 6 phone calls per year we make and no data (I use on wifi at home and at work.)
If I was to upgrade and go out and get the latest and greatest like everyone else, it would cost me $1000 for the phones themselves, $144 to activate them, and for the lowest I can see, $200/month.
How do you all do this? And why am I the fool to have a loan for the same amount for a new car that gets me back and forth to work to make me money?
As for my phones....
2 of these, AT&T Avail / ZTE Z900 (I think)
and 2 of these, AT&T Fusion 2
On AT&T GoPhone prepaid $5/month text, $0.10/minute call, wifi only each.
Since the dead thread, I have had a Nissan Altima, Toyota Tacoma, Mazda Tribute bought and paid in full brand new with a 5 year loan, Honda Civic, VW Jetta, and a Toyota Rav4.
Between my wife and I, we've probably put 250,000 miles on those 6 cars since then.
I'm only here because I logged in after several years now and saw subscription notifications. Had to click the 3 threads I'm subscribed to and see what they were.
1. computer too old to run it. Graphics card burnt up and too old to bother with new graphics card. It is strictly a bill paying machine now, not a gaming machine.
2. you can only run GTRs at AS National so much before you want to slit your throat.
3. you can only run GTI on demo servers BL1 so much before you want to slit your throat.
4. wheel no longer workie
Perhaps it is different now-a-days. I would log on now and then over the years and still see only GTR at AS3 and demo GTI at BL1.
Hey not to worry. After about 15 years of marriage in which your children become the age where they hate you, you'll be able to have your hobbies back. I was just out flying my RC airplane this evening. Wouldn't have been able to do that 2 years ago as I wasn't just a stupid dad whom needs to be hated back then.
Teenage years are starting way too early for my kids...
The rule is, if you don't want to be portrayed as an uneducated buffoon, then you post on the internet with proper English, even if typing on an iPhone (you type on an iPhone, not from an iPhone. You instead would post from the iPhone, not type from it.) I can certainly type and correct mistakes just fine on my cheap $10/month phone in which the iPhone is 100 times better for typing on.
Nope, being in enter mode just moves you to a different cell with the arrow keys.
Excel 2003 on my laptop now. Cell A1, if I type "=" into a cell, you are in enter mode shown in the status bar. I continue to type a formula, say "1+". I now want to reference cell A2 to give me "1+A2". I just arrow down which highlights A2, puts "A2" reference into the formula, and the status bar also shows "point" rather than "enter". Now I either continue to type my formula or hit enter key and it accepts and moves to the next cell.
In Excel 2010, it is not doing this. It arrow moves down to cell A2, the cell is highlighted with a dotted box, but no reference for the cell is put into the formula. Status below reads "enter". The resulting formula is "=1+" (which displays an error of incomplete formula of course) rather than "=1+A2".
This is how I've been referencing cells in formulas in Excel now for 17+ years. It works just fine on a coworker's desktop as well as his laptop running XP and Windows 7 repectively, but does not on my work computer.
Ah ha, that's why I couldn't find my thread. At home I open up off-topic. I'm at work and have the root subforum list and clicked the wrong one. Someone of higher power can feel free to move it to the correct location please
Yeah, I know how to edit cells. That's not the problem. I arrow over to the cell, the cell is highlighted, but the cell selected is not displayed within the formula.
If I knew if there was an option previous in the menu, I would be able to use the link above. I don't know of any option to allow the keyboard selection or to disallow, thus would not know which old menu to look for to cross reference.
It is kind of like driving an automatic transmission after driving a manual for 20 years. It takes forever to quit going for the clutch when stopping. I've used the keyboard with spreadsheets for 20 years. I have to do everything twice now, once with the keyboard and realize it didn't take the cells, then again with the mouse. Been driving me crazy for about 5 months now since IT switched me from Office 2003 to 2010. (Obviously, ask IT, but all they are, are computer program installers and do not know much else to help out, along with being too lazy to help anyone out.)
I'm new to Excel 2010. We moved from 2003 to 2010 at work (hate it.) I am a keyboard user, not much of a mouse user. For some reason, when creating a formula, I can no longer arrow over to select a cell into the formula I am writing. It is only on my computer. I tried on a coworker's 2 computers and it works just fine. I seem to be missing the option somewhere where I can't find it.
Example, I want to divide cell A3 by 4.45. I would type = followed by arrowing over to A3 then /4.45. I now have to use the mouse to select the A3 cell instead of being able to arrow over (using arrow keys nets me the formula "=/4.45") This is driving me crazy.
Anyone know where the option is to change this? I can't find it in the stupid icons rather than the old 2003 menu bar.
VH1Classic doesn't even play music 24/7 for me. Though, the Friday night stuff can be pretty good. Always a good concert or the "Movies that Rock" for a good movie.
That is just for their big buck ultra high quality long distance stuff. You can do FVP for about $400 including aircraft. That doesnt include glasses though. You'd have to feed to a laptop for viewing.
I want to do it with multiple glasses, go to a popular park in tbe city and give "rides" for $20 a pop.
Someone has even done FVP on a Parkzone UM T28 like I have. I'll tell you, that is one tiny camera for a Parkzone Ultra Micro to be able to carry.
Scroll down towards the bottom and there will be a section on your particular phone, though like mine, there isn't much info.
Don't you love prepaid. I am paying $20/month for 2 Android phones and folks at work are paying up to $200/month for 2 phones. (Admittedly, I am limited on data with $5 data on each individual phone, but I am not on wifi a total of maybe an hour/day and don't need to be "surfing" while I'm driving anyways.)
Getting ready to root my cheapo phone.
When I figure out how to do screenshots, I'll post in the "mobile desktop" thread. Playing with Android and iOS on the kids' iPods, I'll take Android any day. The iPod/iPhone smoothness isn't worth the 10x overprice just to upgrade the memory from basic.
Had about 4-5 inches accumulate over the past couple of days. Surprisingly being the first snow and how late it came, the news didn't exploit how we were all going to die.
I imagine by the end of January, we will be forecasted for a half inch or so and everyone will be acting like we all are going to die.
If your side mirrors are set correctly, you do not see your car in the mirror.
As a car comes up behind you, you should see it in the center mirror.
As the car moves over to pass you, it should leave the center mirror FOV and enter the side mirror FOV. Either you have very large mirrors to see your car, or you do not see your own car.
As the car moves out of the view of your side mirrors, your peripheral vision picks it up giving you a complete 360° view all around your car.
How you like the temps down there now? Looks like you're hitting below freezing according to the news.
First real snow of the year here also. Only about 5 inches, not much to worry about other than the temps below 20F. The salt they use on the roads doesn't work below that, so the roads aren't going to clear for a while as it all gets packed down. Compound that with the fact that it is the weekend, thus no school so they don't worry as much about clearing roads. Suppose to hit back up in the 40's though for Monday and Tuesday.
Biggest problem for me is on my own road where it drifts across 3/4 of the road about 3 feet deep. Almost couldn't make it through to get home yesterday in my poor little Jetta and they don't come clear my road because it is too small of a dead end road and the township never comes down here. Wifey won't have a problem with her 4WD, but my little Jetta stops moving when the traction control tries to control in the deep stuff.
Weak laptop battery making it necessary to keep plugged in upstairs and not wanting to keep running up and down the stairs, I just restored windows. It's a pain in the ass, but less of a pain than trying to diagnose something over the internet through 2 floors of the house and running all around. I just now have to spend the time updating windows and reinstalling some of the programs that need it (most work fine afterwards.)
Awe crap, trying to open an Excel file and forgot about the stupid Norton that is installed wanting to scan everything before opening Excel which doesn't work. Forgot about the removal tool for that. Yet another reboot I'm sure....
Then you'll love me. I got a single book. My wife got a single book. We picked them out together. We don't buy for each other. We don't live in the ultra-rich family that it seems most live in. No one buys for each other as adults. Grandparents buy stuff for the grandkids and all us parents buy for the kids.
My kids each got a $200 iPod Touch. It wiped us out. Thus, really nothing for each of us. We are attempting to purchase new cheapo phones for our whopping $23 a month cell phone plan. Can't find one anywhere though. I don't shop online, so I'm hunting in stores. They are expensive phones at $50 each. Can't find it so I may resort to ordering online tomorrow. Was hoping to have them this week though so I could swap them over before the 1st of the year when the monthly payment is made. I'll have to wait until the end of January now, which since I washed Wifey's phone, it doesn't work real well anymore and really wanted to get the new phones.
Actually, my big Christmas gift will be a new oil pan and other stuff for the car since on the way home in the fog, a chunk of firewood materialized in the middle of the road right in front of me. Total will cost about $500ish of which I don't have. Every time we get caught up so that we can get things funded, something happens like this. There goes the heating oil bill that is due.
You guys are more computer/network savvy than I am. Looking for some help.
Caught the damn antivirus virus. Cleaned it off no problems, but lost internet connectivity on the wired desktop. I'm connected wirelessly with this laptop and 2 ipod touch.
Running XP and recently updated to Service Pack 3 (problem isn't from this...)
Hunting the internet, the only thing I find is to reset the Winsock file or rebuild the tcp/ip stack. Following directions and various files, I've been playing around with both, but still have no internet connection.
It won't restore to a previous point. I am trying not to do a complete system restore because it is an old machine and there will be 3 days worth of restoring and updates with the constant running down to the basement every hour to reboot the machine.
Hoping some of you network/PC savvy folks can help out and give some ideas.
Thanks. Using this POS laptop is driving me crazy.
