Scariest moments:

Walking down the hallway, turning the corner and sitting next to my older sister at the top of the steps. Silent, both of us. I had the hugest amount of dread I have felt, ever before and since. Something very bad was going to happen.

Then I woke up.

To this day I vividly remember that dream and the pure, stark terror.

Quote from SamH :Yowzer! Well done.. how did you figure out it was the Blue Man Group?

Wiki, then Youtube.

I am not all that sure why anyone ever needs to ask a question anymore; it is all out there for one to find.

I am an old git, and I recognise the song, in a vague way. I like the cover. What is it, pray tell?

EDIT: Donna Summers, I took a guess at that..... and the internet is helping me, a little: 'I Feel Love'

EDIT 2: Blue Man Group, with Annette Strean of Venus Hum guesting on vocals.

Quote from Bob Smith :For anyone using the text version of LFS, the patch will add the following message:
"You become aware of a distrinctly non-rubber burning smell. What do you want to do?"

I would read a scroll of Enchant Drivetrain, while confused.

(I've been playing waaaaaay too much Nethack lately.)

Quote from MaKaKaZo :Hi, I want to make srt subs for this video in Spanish and I'd like to ask for a little help here'n'there.

I checked over the file and this is what I could find/change. I marked them with ***change*** and sometimes put (NOTES: in brackets.)

I am most excited that Scawen got some (more? He must have seat time in other type of cars.) real track time. The experience he will take from that and apply to LFS can only mean continually increasing realism.

The first thing I am going to do is stall the car with my G25.

Thanks LiveforSpeed team!

P.S. Keep your son interested in all of this; he can be a 2nd coder in a few more years and help put the polish on S3. Free child labor, think of all the money you will save!

I will be happy with whatever we get in the next patch.

I have infinite patience to wait until this whole project is finished.

I am pleased with the direction it is going and the tight control that is kept on its development.

Looking at the pictures of the car, in sequence, it is like getting ready to have sex....

...and then I get to this...

...and it is like there is a picture of my grandma tacked to the headboard.

I really never messed with the Wheel Turn Compensation in LFS, but now that it has been explained in this thread I am going to be setting it to 0.0 and changing the G25 Rotation Degrees in the Control Panel to match each car I drive in.

I will also be setting Maximum Steering Lock in the Garage to be fairly low, close to what the tightest corner on whatever track I am driving is.

So, who wants to explain the Parallel Steer setting in the Garage?

Thanks for the explanations everyone.

No 'flaky internet' disconnects?!

I would imagine that would be half the battle of keeping a full field of cars.

Quote from lEl E Talon :ofcourse it doesnt matter if you blow your engine and no oil splatters on your screen, because if your engine blows your out of the race anyway so why does it matter if losing a race looks good or not

I do believe he is talking about the car in front of you puking all the gunk out of its engine and said gunk ending up on your windscreen.

Quote from Joe Martinez :LFS VS RF .. I love them both.....

You know, if we were all sitting around in an old age home shooting the shit day after day, and two years ago we had all had a big heated discussion about something and everyone had calmed down after a time and then along comes Joe Martinez, after another trip to the proctologist room, in his wheelchair and blurts out something that drags up all the old feelings from two years ago because he missed his meds by 15 minutes, I'd get up from my electric scooter and bash you over your stupid head with my carbon fibre cane for being such a droolie.

Too bad this is the internet.

Close to around 70 degrees. I move it a little one way or another for different cars. It is what looks most natural to me, regardless of how much dashboard fits onto the screen.

Quote from squidhead :yes! +1 for search server button, i had hard time naming the server to my friend once, all I could remember is -"JUST LOOK FOR A F*****G SERVER WITH A [DB] IN THE END"

Have your friend use the 'Find User Online' button - you go into a server and they use that to find you and the server you are in.

Quote from Tony Pearce :I'll pay for all of them.

In fact, I'll pay MORE than 20 euros to just have the code for the tracks released so the talented people who have made tracks for the other racing sims (GPL, R-Factor etc) can transfer their tallents to LFS.

Thread Necromancy!

I'll pay 4 times that amount to keep LFS under tight control.

(hey, how much is a Euro in Canadian?)

But! But...! but August 26th is American LeMans at Mosport! Everybody should be driving-flying-swimming-biking-crawling to Canada and watching that.

20 GMT works out to 4pm Sunday EST here in Canada. That is actually perfect for me. I have been in one league (GPL), but the times in most leagues never seem to jibe with my work schedule. Ima gonna think on this for awhile

I am a very minimalist type of guy. I turn off avatars, signatures, smilies, and I adblock a lot of stuff on all the web forums I read.

I just need to see who posted and what they had to say, everything else is web forum 'tuning', ie putting a big fart can muffler on the forum software.

In my opinion, having that big block of wasted space after each and every post showing who 'thanked' is not a good way to get rid of forum clutter, unless I can turn it off in my user control options.

EDIT : I see the block is only under posts that have 'thankers', sorry, it isn't under every post. oops.

Quote from al heeley :Sounds like a good idea for a new poll: What is your least driven LFS car?

Each and every one of the front wheel drive cars.

I enjoy - rear wheel - too much power - no downforce cars.

Grand Prix Legends was my first true love.

I like to race online WITH the AI and a few friends. The AI makes thing more interesting for us. We like longer races than the typical 5 lap AS GTR races that are prevalent online.

But we haven't been able to do this since GPL. (LFS online = AS Nat GTR no wind sunny = GPL online = monza no damage 10 laps everyone pile into the Lotus rofflemo)

I am really looking forward to the AI being worked on.

Once, a long long time ago, I parked in a handicap spot when on delivery. There was nowhere else to park. Got a $75 ticket. Learned me good to never do that again.

I have sometimes held onto the metal bar they put into hotel showers when severely hungover.

I have walked up the ramps instead of stairs, if the ramp was closer; so there goes your theory of 'they just slow you down'.

So, yeah, I have used them.

But never a parking spot ever again.
