Not to bring up a dog subject but there are other LFS racing series that allow pitting on the first lap for such instances as complained about here.
S.C.O.R.E. has adopted this and I have seen another but I haven't participated with them.
This helps keep the number of racers on the track in cars that do not cause others to lose time every time they would lap that damaged car. (Guess How I know about that one)
The LFS Simulator already penalizes the car pitting in any multiplayer race buy starting them on LAP ONE no matter how many laps and time passed that the leaders have run.
I like this rule OLFSL has:
We don't have a lot of rules, it's mostly common sense and fair play.
Here's some good NAL rules:
>Race restarts will only take place if three or more cars are damaged before the entire field has completed the first lap.
>Intentional collisions seeking a restart for any reason will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
>Drivers who do not finish the race will be credited in order of number of laps completed.
>If the race distance is completed after a disconnection, the driver will be placed accordingly.
The last one seems to indicate you can come back and finish after a disconnect. I may be wrong on that?? Once the leaders cross the finish everyone crossing is scored.
I would like for damaged cars to be allowed to pit NO MATTER where they are in a race as LFS already penalizes them. Much better than the time I lost in this event trying to get around a damaged car
cleanly.
I think the alowance made by the staff (reset) was a very good decesion based on the track and type vehicle. It followed their very good rule.
