Hi Guys,

I need to provide a computer resale company with a promo video that they want to show on plasma's at their premises and they are also looking to bundle LFS with their PC's .

I was wondering if some of you out there already have a video like it , so I can use that if at all possible instead of reinventing the wheel

At LFS we sell licenses... and a license can only be online one at a time - therefore it must go through the master server. Other game developers seem to actually sell "bytes", on a cd. Our "bytes" are free, only some of them you need a license to see...

wont work ...only ip in the 10.x.x.x and 192.x.x and 172.x.x.x work and that wont be the ip of the server over the net

I understand all this , but what if I dont want to use the master server , that is the problem ..... there seems to be no way to join a server over the net directly without it using the master server with a name given to it

Sorry , this is a stupid question , but I'm a bit stumped ,

How can I connect to a dedi server that is not using the master server but I know the IP adress ?

If I type in the ip in the "join Specific game" field it just says host not found on master server . Must all internet games go through the master server ?


I cant say local game because then the ip is invalid


Any help would be apreciated

P.S If you dont use the master server does it record pb's etc ?

I talk about LFS alot at work because the person sitting next to me also play LFS so we have alot to talk about after a weekend of racing , the other day a hot chick sitting behind me that would generaly not give me the time of day overheard me talking about joining a race team and having to practise with the team etc .... and she said "are you talking about a real racing team" ..man if I was'nt married i would have probably lied and said "yes" ..Those real drivers must be getting plenty of action

I dont like the fact that if I made changes to my feul load in the live settings that it gets carried over to the next race . Lve should be for that specific race not for all races after that

I must say that its very frustating when you race on a server with a pitstop required , you have to pit , you know you have some damge but its not affecting your lap times atm , now I dont have the option of not fixing it in the pit meaning the person I'm chasing who dont have damage pits for 2 seconds , my pit is 10 sec . Even though I was faster even with damage , I lost my advantage of maybe staying out longer etc . So a live setting of not fixing damage in the pit would be realy nice

i dont think its a graphic issue because when this happens the marker on the map of the person who car is flashing also flashes . I then pit , his car is fine , and his marker does not flash on the map as well

Another reason I dont think its a graphics issue is that ALL other cars and environment would be fine , except for 1 car

No the pc is not overclocked , the first issue happened on a friend of mines pc as well and he's is also not overclocked


I'm running a geforce gt 6600 ,force ware 77.72 drivers

Dont know if this has been mentioned before but here goes :

Issue 1 : I will be driving around all on my own and then suddenly I will be shot into the air , land a few corners further and this terrible sound would be coming through the speakers . Cure : Disconnect from server , reconnect and hope it does not happen again

Issue 2 :

A car would suddenly become a shell in front of me , and start flashing and jumping all over the place , its imposssible to tell where the person is . Cure :
Pit , and then the affected car is fine again
