  1. Try to switch to other wireless channels
  2. Get the latest drivers if you didn't already
  3. Try to disable Windows searching for new Wlans!
  4. For online gaming it is not important if you're running 108, 54 or 11 Mbits, so try choosing a lower speed, disable dynamic speed adjustments
  5. PM me if it doesn't help

You're talking 'bout the diesel-thing dood? hehe *givesyoufive* *clap*

But these lightweight 90's sedans like the e30 m3 really rock, for sure!

If you could do a better photograph of it, I'd surely could tell you its name! Is there a sticker telling you a FCC-ID Number?
Could you post a pic of the backside please?

Quote from ORION :I would like to have them, but the vic's apache and hoster wont :P

I think it would not be that bad, nearly every user who visits the forum daily or so will have the avatars in his/her browsers disk cache...
I would welcome the idea of having avatars!

Yeah the 1986-1991 Model (E30)
I would buy 5 licences to get a lookalike of it

I think these would fit in S3 (or even earlier) perfectly, I already see their names ingame

I want that one.

Lots of power, no downforce, open wheeler (ish) - but street legal and with two seats. Oh baby. The closest you could ever get to driving a GPL car to the shops (if you actually had anywhere to put your shopping when you get there).

Look at this :

Very nice work, I love the video! Anyways, did you all forget the stuff with the keyboard-LEDs?

I got a 2003 BMW e46 320td. Had 5 cars before this, this is the best I had.
You can find the specs and some pics below

Quote from Blowtus :camber isn't really as 'static' a value as the others... highly dependant on vehicle, vehicle setup, tyre type and pressure.

you're shurely right, but maybe there's an optimal setting in camber pulling the most g's? I dunno

Hi,
just had an idea: why not use the (usually 3) LED's nearly every keyboard has to show the optimal shift point? While I am racing, I put my keyboard left to my steering wheel and I could easily see the LEDs.
Once upon a time I had a plugin for Winamp that made the three LEDs blink in sync with the music played. Quite cool

Don't forget to make it possible to customize this function:
  • which LEDs to be used
  • the order the LEDs will be lit (there are keyboards where the LEDs are arranged vertically, e.g. MS Natural KB)
  • maybe the RPMs, or % of max RPM before the Diodes light up
I've always asked myself why this was never used before in games or applications...

Scawen: If you will implement this, I will have to mod my keyboard (now there are 3 blue LEDs soldered in) so that it looks like this:
[o] [o] [o]
Num Caps Scroll

What do the racing folks think about this idea?

And to continue your great tests, please add a chart showing the grip differences with different camber angles (no camber, low, med, high, very high) just to see how much it affects cornering... I sometimes wonder how drivers can go so fast into sharp turns and by checking their Setups I often see 'excessive camber' combined with rather low tire pressure

In fact I only said they SHOULD, my opinion. Maybe they will, that'd please me very much. And a lot of other users

Seems that presentation worked

Quote from tinvek :when you setup your car you adjust suspension springs etc

if the body is flexing you are introducing a seperate movement that affects the handling of the car. generally speaking the aim is to have the chassis or monoque as stiff as possible to remove this variable.

in karting, where there is no suspension in the conventional sense, the flex of the kart is adjusted to provide a suspension effect though you'd probably need becky rose or similar to give you more accurate info on this

When my family decided to buy a convertible for my mom several years ago, we also tested a Chrysler LeBaron, just for fun. The chassis flexed so much that you could not open a door when one wheel was on the pedestrian sidewalk and the other 3 on the street! illepall
We bought a BMW e30 320i convertible instead.
The convertible version of this car is several kilogramms heavier then the sedan, because the chassis has been enforced so much.

Just found some interesting lines, maybe the devs could arrange another deal with BMW?

Gavin Ward, BMW:
Quote :"Although diesel racing cars have recently become fashionable it was back in 1998 that a BMW 320d driven by Briton Steve Soper, among others, achieved a landmark victory in the Nürburgring 24 Hours. This is generally accepted as the first victory for a diesel car in a top line international event. Now customers wanting to emulate this success can buy a 120d car with a racing package.
Powered by a 1,995cc diesel engine, the BMW Motorsport-equipped 120d provides 245hp and 450Nm of torque from its modified engine. A lowered suspension with adjustable anti-roll bars and dampers feature along with 332mm front disc brakes with six-piston callipers and 284mm rear disc brakes with four-piston callipers. Lightweight BBS alloy wheels, a full aero package including rear diffuser, and a stripped out weight-saving interior also serve to increase performance."

AND: we would not have to pay an extra 95.000 euros for the racing version
Give us those diesels!

Please, please, please, never, never, never compare an american cruiser to a german roadgoing racecar like the M3 CSL. Never ever. Never again.
That makes me very sad.
The M3 CSL is even being sold with racing tyres, unlike the standard-M3.
People buying one even have to sign a letter saying that these tyres can not do well in wet circumstances

Friends, don't make me that sad again please

As many said before: LFS needs some more Racing-like, but not so overpowered RWD Saloons.
Good example, often mentioned: BMW M3 Cool

And there is one other good old german car: the Audi Urquattro (4WD)
Other dreams on 4 wheels and fun to drive:
  • BMW Diesel Sports Car Thumbs up
  • 1980's F1 cars
  • Toyota AE86
  • Lamborghini Murcielago/Ferrari Enzo
  • Lotus Elise
  • BMW M5/Audi RS6
  • Jaguar E-Type/Ford Mustang
  • AC Cobra/old style Corvette
  • BMW M1
  • Porsche 962
  • Maybe a Hummer or sthg. like that, Jeeps are ok, too Big grin
  • ...

when it comes to long races, at least in europe they shurely are!
http://motoring.iafrica.com/ro ... /BEHIND%20THE%20WHEEL.htm

In LFS Diesels would fit quite perfect when there are long races, just change your tires and you are done!

Even in Le Mans (really famous 24h race) Diesel engines were used successfully! Audi R10 is the key
