Are you using any car mods?
For me the replay looks the same when i tweaked and used car mods, saved the replay and then rewatched it with the vanilla game.
I only know this explanation for this kind of car jumping in the replay. Never seen in other case
Dont forget that half the players dont have a wheel.
For a keyboard player manual clutch would make me stop playing this game.
I already use 9 buttons to drive, and for even mouse players it would be pain in the ass
It's like saying that a music maker software developer can be sued because his software is capable of copying artist's songs.
EDIT: I'm no lawyer but if Scawen doesn't make an official release with a new car including an existing car brand or other game's own car he is untouchable.
You can play any moddable game and you'll find some user made stuff that could be arguably copied or not legal, but to be honest i dont think anyone cares about that.
As a player i am just happy that i have more content to choose from, the devs get free work done and if there is a problem they just raise their hands and say: 'hey some guy made this without my knowledge contact them'.
Although there could be some cases but personally i have never heard about copyright law cases in small indie games.
If i were a dev i would just look the other way and let ppl mod my game because it benefits everyone.
And modding is just a feature, you dont make profit directly. For example you dont sell XY's self made Toyota Supra as a DLC car. You wont pay more what the game already cost and even if you say you are making profit from it then lets ban every moddable game.
With this logic skins should be banned too, same gray area. How many skins are there that copied famous cars?
I totally disagree with this. It is not a story based game which tells you the objective/what to do. This is a racing simulation (sandbox?) game. You set the objective for yourself.
For example i decided to have a PB i am satisfied with with every car in every track.
There are leagues every week you can have some fun and gain experience at the same time.
There are newer simulators but better? I tried many others but nothing lasted more than 1-2 weeks. (I play with LFS for 9 years and counting). What keeps me here is the physics (there is no other game that can match this) and the good controls with keyboard.
Because of the great gameplay the graphics is not that important. Yes it could use some polish, but at least you can run it in a smart calculator. But graphical improvement wouldnt improve the gaming experience that much. Content does and if you are not satisfied with the current state you can mod the game free for your taste (singleplayer only or local server).
LFS's small community is not a bad thing. When i join a server i always find familiar names, i know who to fight with, who to let pass. Around your skill level is easy to get a rival.
I've started doing hotlaps and i realized that only a few people use this great feature. There are tracks which only have 6-7 uploaded times and i am thinking about how could we encourage players to use this more often.
One idea is that there is only MHR, Nutter and Most WR ranks which are displayed next to the names. Maybe add new Top 3 ranks by: car, track, country.
Maybe this would motivate more players to challenge each other not just online races but offline hotlaps.
What do you think?
EDIT: The thousands of seconds are not registered (0.00x), since there are lots of matching times, it would be great to improve the precision.
