During a pitstop is it possible to regulate precisely what action is taken if there is minor or major damage to be dealt with? I mean, if I have four laps to go and I don't want to lose the lead I might have and take gamble that my car will stay in one piece for the remainder of the race.
Or does the program automatically repair all the minor and major damage outstanding?
I'd like to know if I can just refuel if possible.

On other racing games you are sometimes allowed to have a ghost car, (your fastest lap) to run with you. Is that possible or available on LFS?

Thanks - as it has been more than six months since I was last on LFS I didn't know that the page containing the PBs was clearly different and had a new layout. Now I realize what I'm looking at and have got what I wanted. Many thanks for patiently shoving me in the right direction.

Before Y patch came along I could easily find my record of PBs. Now I can't. Has there been a change to this statistic which I find so helpful??

Had problems getting Y patch on but at last I got it on OK - except for being able to set up my own host name so that I could race my bro. Only XF GTI and XR GT were available - all the others were greyed out.
Some folks offered a heap of helpful advice - none of which made sense!
On bringing up the START NEW HOST window following Multiplayer I happened to notice the section of all the car names on the right hand side. I noticed that there were mainly No against the car names. Only two cars had Yes under them.
So I Changed them to Yes.
Cracked it.
So, somehow the downloading of Y patch caused those Yesses to be changed to No. I'm certain I didn't change them!
Now, its all hunkey dorey.

I am quite frankly, horrified at the amount of stuff all to do with what I had always assumed was the simplest set up, to give oneself a fancy name, a cute password, and hey, up and away, you can have a "secret" host name and you're off and running.
I'm impressed at your knowledge of all things to do with LFS, Angry Angel, but all that stuff, reading and comprehending it, is way beyond me.
Honest it is.
It looks like finding a public track is all that is available to me.
Making sense of all that is beyond me.
I appreciate your willingness to offer it to me but, I'm sorry, it looks far too complicated.

HOST NOT FOUND ON MASTER SERVER it reads when I try to set up a host or go to the self same host I've had for over a year. Even before the X patch came in without problems.
All it offers are XF GTI and XR GT cars - all the remainder are greyed out.
I have S2 and full access via Single player and even on the multiplayer at the public tracks but NOT via the self-made host just for head to head racing with a friend.
What can I do please? I have a BT Voyager external modem.

I have downloaded the Y patch and can play it on SIngle Player.
When I hit Multiplayer and attempt to join a previously started track or even Start New Host I am only able to use the XF GTI and the XR GT. All the other cars including the new BMW are greyed out.
It just tells me that the host name I have initiated is "Host not displayed on Master Server"

Although inserting my user name and Game Password it tells me that I am now a DEMO user. This has happened four times.
I cannot therefore set up a track to race daveebee head to head.
Although I have genuine Vendor TX ID and a Ticket Nbr I can only use the version Y as a single user.

There must be a default button for REVERSE gear and I looked high and low in Options and COntrols but it doesn't seem to be there.
Now, with no RESET available when in Multiplayer racing it has become even more of a problem.
D0es anyone know how you hit reverse if you're facing into the wall and you need reverse gear when your controls are all under buttons please.

I have reverted to the modem and the problem is now history. I was trying to get my wife to join in the computer revolution but she admits that she's not that keen. She is still using a quill pen....
Now with modem working happily we're back, snapping at each others heels.
(Another gadget on my shelf gathering dust......) the router I mean...

I'm thinking that I should find some way to revert to normal modem working. I haven't gained enough by utilising the router between my laptop and my destop and reckon the modem would be more use.

I've just had an op and will not be travelling far for some months.
I did in fact, find the car seats a little on the snug side for my rear end last spring!!

Although I can go onto the multiplayer tracks and join in a common track without difficulties, I hit problems if I try to set up a "private" track to race with a friend when I use a router instead of an ordinary modem?

I used to race head to head regularly a year ago with a friend.
On trying today to set up a new game title and password, the first person to go there is OK but the one trying to join reads "connxn failed". We can both join up with the main multiplayer tracks without problems but in trying to get into our own private "track" we keep reading "connxn failed " over ten times now.
Has the ability to set up a private track now been limited in recent months or could we be doing something different. Would be grateful for any help please.

I have the TH2go for flight sim.
How do I make adjustments enable me to "widen" my view when driving with LFS. I have been told that TH2Go works with LFS.
At the moment all I can see is the left hand screen.

Why not just set up an agreement with a code and a password which only invited racers will be told of. Surely this will give you the racing environment you want rather going on the free and open trackers via the Multiplayer list.
I've got one where I race head to head with a friend - we agree after speaking on SKYpe which one of us will be the host and then bingo, we're all set up in a minute to race.
Then the rough and ready newbies and demo racers can drive how they will and everyone's happy.
