Also, I agree with you on LFS being a product, and a product is tailored to a certain audience. If you don't like it, consider "terminating" your use of it, go to another simulator if you find "taking an L" is not acceptable.

This is pointless, there is no way to prevent DDoS'ing without having immense financial resources to spend on such protection. There is no "solution" to be found, especially by a single person absolutelly overloaded with pressure about updates, security, bug fixes etc. etc.

There can be no fix other than throwing money at the problem when it comes to DDoS'es, if you're so sick and tired of them, maybe throw a couple grand into Scawen's bank account each month and appropriate DDoS security would be implemented.

Or perchance you could brainstorm a solution all by yourself, because you seem to be so knowledgable about the issue that you would know how to fix the issue in less than 10+ years time. Every time an issue like this arises there's people like you that think it's a simple fix, it's not.

If their identities were to be revealed, it wouldn't be very hard to trace them back to their place of living, a kind report to the local police station would warrant enough intimidation to stop them. It is an extreme options, I concur, however, if that's what must be done. DDoS'ing is a crime everywhere in the world.

Doxxing someone is bad, I agree, however if they're willing to do this to a small community like LFS for years, it's pretty deserved IMO.

I was thinking, if a track editor were to be released, doing something like a track building competition for the community would tremendously increase the quality of the tracks, the interest of the community and ammount of tracks created. Something like a monthly/bi-monthly competition where multiple players can collaborate on creating a track, and at the end hold a community poll for the best track, the track is then reviewed for copyright and eventually implemented in the game by the devs. It's a fun concept

I'd love to see this E-Formula Student idea play out, it would be great fun building and racing a car up to a certain spec! eGM kinda does this already with their SST cars but I think a bit more free regulations would be better. Also, SST uses a race format, E-Formula Student could use a time attack format..

Quote from Meseplayer :btw, what is a private mod? Wasn't the idea with mods that you want others to...

A private mod would be a mod that only people with permission from the author can access, they're usually WIP and go public once they're finished

Some mods are private, so that only specific players can use it, what you're suggesting may bypass this "filter" and allow anyone to use private mods, which would be an issue

If the object limit alone was raised, a huge increase in track quality would follow, not sure how much of an impact the objects have performance wise though?

First time chipping into this thread, lots of interesting posts..

Locking the temps would be a very easy solution however, so other more important things can be worked on first, then sometime later down the line we could get new compounds. however the new compounds may come with the new tyre physics Scawen will be working on

Good idea Adam, perhaps this "favourite server" can be implemented by adapting the favourite mods code, so it shouldn't be as much of a pain to do so, I'm not sure though. Certainly would be great

Nevertheless, it might be a fun hobby/free time activity for gaboteam. And if not implemented into LFS, it could be implemented elsewhere, perhaps another developer would want the Nordschleife in their game, you never know..

Quote from Bokujishin :As far as engine tweaks are concerned, I'm not sure 10k hp is possible, as values are based on physical parameters; you can definitely go over 1,000hp though. Also keep in mind that engine mass is calculated automatically, a more powerful engine will be heavier.

More than 1,000 horsepower is definetely possible, highest I could get is 28,551hp from a 12 litre V16

Better your setup, work on your driving. FBM is very sensitive to when you start braking/start turning in.

I recommend:
https://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Basic_Setup_Guide
https://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Advanced_Setup_Guide

If you're new to making setups, try driving some setups from other people, and comparing them one to another, that way you can see what settings impact car performance in a specific way.
