i just got it last month, it doesnt get much newer than that

i have a compaq presario cq50 notebook with these specs

processor: genuine intel(r) CPU 575 @ 2.00 GHz

memory RAM: 2.00 GB

system type: 32Bit operating system

and it has windows vista home basic

heres my situation, i was playing LFS on my old desktop but it was un upgradeable and the FPS was between 10-20 with everything turned off including smoke, rubber, trees, etc. so since christmas was coming i asked for a notebook so i could have my own computer, take it where i wanted and hopefully play LFS better, but thats not the case, i brought LFS over from the other computer on a flashdrive and started it up and it only runs at 5 more FPS so max is 25FPS that ive seen with everything off, is it because of the laptop, or do i need a certain version of LFS for vista... or what?

so thats my dilema and i want to know if its just because i dont have a vista version of LFS if there even is one or if i need to upgrade my computer, and if so can i even upgrade this notebook? and if so to what should i upgrade?

hey guys i know some may look down upon this but im an avid drifter in LFS but i only have the mouse to steer, so im wondering what wheels should i look at and is there a way to add a clutch to a set of pedals that doesnt come with one, meaning can i buy a lower priced wheel and add a clutch or is the g25 my only option for a wheel with a clutch?

ok well my computer is 8 yrs old and i found out it is not upgradeable =[ , so im going to be looking into building/purchasing something new or even second hnad if someone has one (wink wink). so heres my dilema, i have no effing clue what you guys are talking abou twhen i read the other threads in here so , where is a good place to shop and should i go laptop or desktop?

if i go laptop it will stricktly be mine and i will run such things as LFS, search the net, and store music on it. but if its a desktop my siblings will also get to use it (i have 4 of them ranging from ages 9-15)and who noes what will be on it then.

so this is my way of asking if you can point me in the right direction or maybe even offer me up your old rig.

PS anything will be better than what i have because im running 15FPS in lfs with everything turned to low or off

and my budget is about 500USD max , i know not alot to work with but im not exactly wealthy

fixed the title, im still curious on this because im seeing more and more vids of modified LFS cars

is it possible to change or modify the body of a car , or is someone devoloping this, heres is what i mean

qhats wrong with running 15-20 fps? i run that and drift all day long =] haha , im trying to get a better comp but right now moneys tight , have you considered turning some things off, i have my sky turned off , smoke at lowest setting and some other stuff turned off
