I do not think paying for add-ons is a good idea. I feel certain ones will give people that pay an advantage in racing online and would not be fair to the people that paid for the game but do not buy the addon for one reason or another. Other add-ons are not significant enough to be sold individually...just my opinion
Yeeea, i dont know what youre smoking, but stop before the damage is irreversable! I've played all the NFS games before i found LFS and there is no way NFS is even in the same rating as LFS. NFS does not react the phyics on the car and is simply harder on tarmac and lighter on rain/grass...not in LFS like you said. FF in LFS actually lets you feel the car and its action and actually helps you drive. illepall ok theres your flame.
About the understeer, I have a relatively cheap wheel, the Saitek 440 or something like that, and the FF on it isnt the best, but i do not feel any understeer, not sure if its cause of the wheel or the game, but truthfully it doesnt take away from what i can do with the car so not too important for me.
As said before, we dont have a lot of these extra effects simply because a lot of peoples computers cant handle it, and i love this game for that reason, because many games are patched with improved graphics or effects and all of a sudden i cant play it anymore, because i have a mid-powered computer. Effects such as smoke, to be realistic and fair, need to be mandatory on all system, not just an option, and personally, my computer right now struggles with 10-15 cars infront of me with around 30FPS, so adding that smoke effect will either force me not to play or get a better system (yea right illepall ) So I'm sure all these effects will come at one point, when the standard for systems will be a bit higher. For now they are better left out.
My main reason for wearing out my tires too fast is that i got into a turn too fast or at the wrong line and understeer too much so my fronts overheat. Best advice, like rcpilot said is take the turn alittle slow and that'll help a lot
No, you won't have to pay for S2 again, but you will have to pay if you'll want to upgrade to S3...you're paying for stages here...it's fully your choice if you want to upgrade..its not like S2 will not work after S3 will come out..but most people will be at S3
At low top speeds like those, a roof wouldn't really effect it that much if any, but in my opinion the car should be made heavier if it doesnt have a roof rather than the same.
But on the topic, i dont meet too many "wreckers" on the servers, that is..people that wreck on purpose. But there a lot of new racers that do crash a lot. Now while i encourage people new to the game to go online and learn from people that are more skilled, and do except that they will make errors and crash and sometimes take people out with them, i do feel that before a player goes online to race he needs to realize the basic rules that people follow in LFS like hitting Shift+S when wrecked to get out of peoples ways, falling to the back of the pack when you dont know the combo well, exiting pits, getting back onto the road, etc...maybe someone should make a "Common Sense Basics For Noobs" sticky in beginners or something
I'm thinking the warping has a lot to do with most people playing from different countries. I know that when i play other online games (mostly Half Life or BF2) i always connect to USA servers and play with people that are close to the server location. Now i know that a lot of the LFS servers are scattered through out the world, and all the people that connect may be connecting from a far away locations..which in another other games, and in LFS would result in some sort of warping. Just a thought. So maybe it has nothing to do with the netcode.
I have a 3.0mps cable connection and everytime I am connected to a server (usually ping 60-125) and there are more than around 6 or 7 cars..there is always at least wrapping at the start of the race so many times the car ahead of me doesn't seem to move so i try to avoid it, only to have the car reappear 200 feet infront of me a few seconds later...alittle annoying but I've always excepted it as part of the game
just my 2 cents here...on the topic of AFKs..maybe the restart system can be changed around..somehting like a counter at restart shows how many seconds/minutes a person has been idle..or even at restart..you have to click "ready" your self before you are put into the race..just a thought..
is the 6.3 better/worse or the same as the 5.11s I only started playing LFS with the 6.3s and if that ones worse, where can i download the 5.11s from? cant find them anywhere.
