It's one of the best demo's I've ever seen. You can drive 3 cars and 1(4) tracks forever. You can even host your own server.
Why not invite your friend over and let him play on your PC?
Maybe even show him some videos...
A kick and a +1 from me.
I never really needed it, but now that I race on the CTRA servers where cars and maps are switched ever time, I REALLY miss this feature.
Please show only the setups for this track, and then maybe a "show all tracks setups", and, as already suggested, a copy to current track setup option.
There is already a filter, because you only see setups for your current car. Why not extend that to current track as well? And this improvement suggestion shouldnt be too hard. It's not like asking for rain or collission detection, this is something in the user interface.
Hmmm... I agree with Dahle.
I've been around on and off for 2 years, but I still dont know all the tracks.
Is there a default command to see the track name? I know the [CD] servers have !track.
Why go to a web page to see what track you are racing? I _know_ that it's Aston... but which one?
Why not make only the setups for THAT track visible?
maybe an extra button "see all setups" ?
But why cant someone decide that for himself?
It's been bothering me too. I hardly ever look at the rev counter and speed when I drove a certain map a few times. I do look at my temperatures a lot.
Why cant someone prefer the temperatures over the rev counter/speedometer?
When I got on the internet in 1995 everybody had a nickname. I hadnt realised that, so I used part of my bands name Riff Randell. She was the lead character in the Ramones movie Rock 'n Roll High School. So Riffey it was.
Not too long after that I started playing Quake (1). And when I started trying different configs I couldnt tell them apart, so I named them 1, 2 etc. To be sure I had the right config, I also changed my name in each config. So it was Riffey#1, #2 etc.
At #4 I finally got things working, but my name in that config was still Riffey#4. I was too lazy to change that, so it stuck
(spam: this was Riff Randell: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1923133196861736760 )
I think there's something missing there.. Just the obvious end of the sentence or was there more?
I dont mind moving there, but it's usually empty... and I dont like racing with less then 5 drivers...
Maybe disallow licensed drivers to join the public servers during peak hours? That way you get a better populated CD 2 and 4.
And then make sure it has AS Cadet running on 4.
I'm getting besides the point a bit, but that happens a lot on these forums
You're going to get a hard time raising a kid. The front page of cnn.com (US version) contains "sex", "child porn" and "oral sex" at this very moment. Those are a lot ruder imho then "shit". Are you going to keep him reading the news?
Agreed. But there are worse things on TV when kids could be watching. Violence, guns... Shit or f*ck arent the worst things they could see/hear.
So are you saying you are a shallow person because you swear quite a bit?
And swearing, are you meaning "just dirty words" or swearing as in (ab)using God, Allah or whatever your beliefs are? I'm not religious, but even I never swear. To me, using Gods name doesnt matter, because I'm not religious, and other people could be offended, so what would be the point? But I do use words like shit, f*ck and their dutch equivalents.
I'm not a native speaker... but isnt it just a common expression?
Where do you draw the line? Can you have cigarette or alcohol ads on your car?
Maybe just change it to SH!T happens. Everybody knows what you mean, but then they arent offended.
Same as with all the US tv-shows. Every F word is bleeped away, but everybody still knows what is being said...
I hardly ever use the blue flag text, but when I do it's when someone refuses to get out of the way when I'm fighting somebody. If it's just me he's blocking and he is a bad driver, ill get him sooner or later.
I don't spam, but every now and then I let the OTHER drivers know that me and the guy(s) I'm racing are blocked by somebody being lapped, hoping I get more support when I kickvote him.
The kicking is more or less a way to get his attention. These types usually join midrace, don't look at the minimap, dont read the blue flag notices, usually ruin a great race, break way too early, making you crash on him and then you get sworn at for hitting him, or, if you manage to pass him, he figures he can outbrake you and then crashing you in the next corner... or cutting a corner and leaving tyres all over the track...
The kickvote is a way to open a conversation with this kind of driver
See my post above yours. But it doesnt work on all views, nor when the player has already finished.
Maybe there's another option that I'm not aware of...
