Quote from wOoOzZy :Yeah. It's GT1.

And for my set problems. I messed with everything (tried toe first) to correct this and there has been no change. I went and test drove the wr set again to make sure it wasn't my driving and broke my pb again on a crappy lap.

The wr set is a bit more oversteery than mine but not by much. And it kicks out a lot when downshifting to 3rd at low speeds but that shouldn't affect speed right?

You should only downshift to 3rd at 2 corners at ky3, i've never experienced it kicking out, but i make sure i downshift before i turn in - just to make sure....

Quote from tenmantaylor :Haha cool! Take it you nailed the last turn like I said last night?

Lol I tried to but i'm still losing LOADS of time there. I just turned my brakes up to 1300nm meaning I could brake later but still not lock up

Results?

EDIT: Deko, Please watch me on lap 17 (timecode 30:12), you will see Wolf ram me off onto the grass intentionally. As well as this, Wolf also hit me several times under the safety car which considerably worsened my suspension damage which was originally sustained from Woozy landing on me upside down (from the 1st lap my car was twitching all over the place).

Quote from wOoOzZy :Yeah, I almost had a good race with you there but I had to make sure I didn't get caught up in Wolf's slip stream and ended up losing too much speed so I got passed by you and then Roby. After that, you were gone. Oh, and very nice pass going into that right hander before the corkscrew.

Shame about turn 1 because my set actually felt good for once. Had some of the worst suspension damage I've ever gotten. But hey, I scored points after being a lap down so I guess I'm lucky.

-ps- I'll send out those interview questions to the top 3 later tonight.

Is the nice pass referring to me overtaking wolf? :P I felt inspired after i did it XD

Quote from tenmantaylor :Unfortunately Roby, as woozy says, you have to experiment.

Maybe start with a setup you know you like from another track and start from there by resetting the easy things like gears and downforce.

After that you have to know what difference the settings are likely to make from what you are feeling on the track. If you are losing grip in slower corners soften dampers and springs. If the car is loose in faster corners increase downforce. If car is oversteery on power on exit lower the power diff and preload settings. If the car is understeering on entry and your off the throttle lower the engine braking setting or the coast diff setting etc

You have to practice consistantly to understand the changes the settings make but once you do it becomes obvious what to change to find time or make the tyres last longer.

Interesting approach on the bottoming out. Might be a good way around having a high slower setup but I wouldnt want to have a moment in the corkscrew the car on the deck on a full tank

Your right about more time spent in hairpins but what I was trying to say was attacking them often loses alot of time. Especially the third and last ones where, in race trim lap after lap, braking a tad early and ensuring a tight fast exit will be much quicker over a stint and save the tyres alot.

Just my two penneth

Tried doing all that for every race i've done and I just end up ruining sets as Boris can agree Ahh well......Just ruined an AS7 one this morning

I actually give up on this track, it's sh*t! You get to every corner in fear of hitting the kerb.......making the back step out, it's ridiculous

It's alright for people who know how to make a setup! I'm completely stumped, and that "Advanced Setup Guide" is a load of shiz lol, need something in plain english to learn from then I can go from there

Right, i'm now thinking of buying a Logitech Driving Force EX, what do you guys think? I've heard that there's not much difference between the EX and the PRO....

I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Whilst this thread is turning into more of a general discussion, I have a question! Does anyone want to compete in The Annual 16 Hour Race? It sounds amazing...

Haha, well for that, I was actually given dollars to spend whilst I was away...........still came back with about $200 to spare

But I partly sold my DFP because it was a lot of money.........$100ish....

Pfft, damn university lol

Quote from tenmantaylor :You should buy and use a wheel really. Its a driving sim and if you cant be as good with a wheel (or arent willing to be) then your no good at "driving"

Im sure if you have the skill to be competive with a mouse, once used to it, youll be much quicker and consistant with a wheel. And it will be x10 as satisfying.

Lol. I gave up with the DFP after around 3 days lol so I didn't put much effort into using it. I also found the DFP FFB to be very loud.....

What's the best cheapest wheel to buy? lol

Yeah i've had a go on a $40,000 F1 simulator in Vegas which had a G25 wheel...........AMAZING, paid $120 just to go on it for 30 mins lol

I'm short on cash at the mo though (just started uni)........don't forget, the UK put's an extortionate amount of tax on everything, so i can't really buy a momo for less than £50/$90.

I had a DFP but sold it again because I was RUBBISH!, then it took me a few weeks to get used to my mouse again

Right guys, is it actually worth buying a wheel? I mean, i'm pretty good now anyway with my mouse and i'm getting better all the time, it's not as if i've reached the limit with what i'm using.....

I've been looking for pedals on their own but can't find any.......

Quote from wOoOzZy :No effing way, you're crap!

lol. I'm not opposed to it but currently AMB is filling the second slot for AA and I doubt you'll be satisfied to be a backup =). Although there's a small chance I won't be able to race next season so in that case you could. Also, I don't know if AMB wants to stay in AA or even oneGP after this season is over. So like I said, it's fine by me, but there are still a few important details that are still unknown.

I just made the idea up because AMB has missed a lot of races under AA. But anyway, you have to race in the second season!!!!! lol
