It actually is hard to do, it's like when you spot something in a logo. The arrow in the FedEx logo for instance. You can't unsee it once you've seen it so you have to shout and moan about it in futile hopes that it disappears.
I'll turn my attention to TV. Nice safe happy TV..
Sometimes people just have to post what they want to say... Once this thread disappears it won't arise again for another few months. But while it's here people just want to get it off of their chests.
We should rename this The Vent Thread and be done with it.
There's a difference between random attacking of someone and justified annoyance. He puts no effort into making sure what he's posting is even readable and he also makes no effort into improving.
People have a right to be annoyed and also a right to say what they want. If this keeps up some more then perhaps he'll change his ways and actually make an effort.
Edit : Also yes there are others, but honestly can you name one person that can match him for EPM (Errors per minute)?
I can't tell if this guy's for real anymore, or if it's someone just taking the piss..
Either way faster, I think it's safe to say that you're probably about 30,000th in line to become a moderator. So eat healthily and exercise and you might get there
Wouldn't recommend using a pre-made scene to learn. Since you'll open it and have absolutely no idea what you're looking at. You'll learn 20x more by following a tutorial ( I'm sure there's one for lfs somewhere? ) and making your own.
However if you do want to see the pre-made scenes you will need brazil. You can get it at www.splutterfish.com and there's a free version available. Unfortunately this only does tiny renders. I'm sure there's another program to do something about that, called bigrenderer or something.
I think you can view them without brazil but when you render you'll have an ugly grey blob for a car. But most of the car parts will be visible since they're standard textures, the body however isn't.
I never understood why people like winamp so much. I hate it
iTunes for my music because it's simple and easy to use. I don't care if it takes up a little more memory than alot of players. Media player classic for videos because it opens and closes fast and is just great in every way.
Had this problem for a long time, can easily get 50fps recordings in 16bit and 32 bit with every other game I own. LFS drops to 9fps no matter the graphic settings in 32bit.
Sent a support email a while back and was told to contact the fraps people and my PC supplier.
Processor: AMD X2 4400
Motherboard: nForce 4
Memory: 1GB
Graphic card: 7800 GTX
Operating system: Win XP Home SP2
LFS:
resolution - 1440 x 900 - 800 x 600 with fraps
FRAPS:
half or full resolution: full at 800 x 600
number of frames per second: 16 bit = 50 32 = 9
Some peoples PC's have trouble with fraps recording + 32bit LFS. I can turn all my graphics settings as low as possible and use stupidly low res and still get 9FPS.
Change to a 16bit video mode if the graphics turny downy doesn't work
Would have liked to see Schumi higher in the points to bring the gap down. But atleast we got to see Alonso not finish, which just never happens anymore.
I loved LFS long before you 'made me play it properly'. But I also enjoy the other games. rFactor isn't exactly a youngun being, well, must be about a year old now.
People go into a new racing sim/game by saying 'OK it isn't going to be as good as LFS and I won't like it' so then they end up not liking it. People complain about silly things as well, such as the graphics. I don't know how some people's rFactor looks but mine atleast doesn't look cartoony at all. Neither does it look splashed in DX9 effects.
Sure the physics engine isn't as complex as LFS, but that doesn't automatically mean it's terrible. Same with the FFB, if you actually set the settings correct then it'll feel fine, but the people that hate it usually give it about 10 minutes.
So the sound isn't generated on the fly, but some people prefer a car that sounds like a car with slightly less feedback on what the engine is doing. Instead of the opposite.
As with all things, racing sims/games are all personal preference. No amount of saying 'X isn't as good as LFS' will make people change their minds about either one. Both games are fun, that's all there is to it, for me atleast.
