EDIT: not there still

Hmm so the games still don't work properly.........?

Not a clue mate, sorry. Unless you go into the monitors actual inbuilt options (like you click a menu button or something?). And find something to do with aspect ratios? I dunno really mate sorry.

Quote from logitekg25 :its not there all that i have is properties that would have to do with it, and its not in there

Download latest drivers from said website then? I have the 5800 series card with none of those problems so i'm pretty sure it's driver related issue

Have you downloaded the latest drivers from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx ?

Also in the Catalyst Control Center if you configure your monitor there are some options which can be changed for aspect ratio - related issues.(Configure found in Desktop and Displays -> right click monitor in use -> Configure.)

Goodluck

No, you need a power source for the card, which is another cable coming from your PSU which has 6 pins on it.

Looks like this: http://techreport.com/r.x/psus-0907/pcie-connectors.jpg
Goes in here- in those 6 pin slots: http://techreport.com/r.x/radeon-hd-5700/card-5770-3q.jpg

Quote from logitekg25 :when i try to plug anything into my new card, nothing happens with the video at all, my system thinks there is nothing there.

i think i plugged everything in, i took out my previous card, and put the new one in the same slot, and it looked to fit i slid it in all the way, and just shut my case...was there anything else i have to do

i ran the exe installer, and it made a folder and put drivers there, the installation cd is still not working though

Your PSU may not have a PCI-E connector, but you DEFINITELY need to plug one in. At the back of the card there will be a slot with 6 pins. That's where it needs to be plugged.

Quote from logitekg25 :alright.....so i tried installing my brand new ATI RADEON HD 5770 video card.

i took out my previous graphics card, i did not damage the port i dont think....so my previous was out. i just slid the new one in where the previous one was. i shut the case, plugged in everything, turned everything on. when it got the the home screen, it said it was installing new drivers. they finished, i restarted the computer. and still nothing. so i put in the installation cd, it said when i clicked anything to check some website for new drivers, so i tried, but had no idea...and the cd would not let me continue.

now what do i do

pics below

Have you plugged 1x PCI-E connectors into the back of your card?

What's this 4pin one you're on about? You sure that isn't the one that's ment to go straight into the 4pin slot which powers the CPU? Should work fine with just 20pins, you don't need to jam another 4pins in, something else is the issue.

Hopefully a 20inch moniter to assist my 2 other 19inch moniters in an attempt of an ATI EYEFINITY setup .

Should be a laugh, though it won't be an extreme setup, it'll be something.

Mine

AMD X2 6000+ 3.00ghz @ 3.3ghz stable
6GB DDR2 800mhz RAM 2x2gb and 2x1gb
Some random old HDD
750watt Corsair PSU
ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU

Runs lfs pretty well, obviously with a major CPU bottleneck though.

Shit, i'm such a newbie.

I had assumed the 8pin connector with the PSU was for other, newer technology, but really, my mobo is just old so only has a 4pin slot. Half the 8 pin connector works.

Brilliant, YAY!
Drivers incoming.
PSU Connectors [Was: Problem]

I have just bought a ati 5850, and a TX 750watt power supply (corsair), to replace an ancient 9500gt and PSU.

Problem is is that my new PSU doesn't have a 4pin connector (for what i think is the CPU), yet it has the full 24pin connector for the mobo (where as old PSU was only running 20pins).

My question is, why the **** wouldn't this brand new, fairly new make of PSU NOT have the 4pin connector for the CPU? And is there any work around at all?

I tried just plugging the 24pin for the mobo in, including the 2 PCI-E connectors for the card, plugged the Harddrive in, etc, hit the boot button and it made no beeps, and showed nothing on the screen.

Thanks guys, i'm pretty pee'd off at this so any advice would be lovely

The reason for ^ is because one of the DVI ports is connected too the HDMI in some way or another.

Aye had thought of that option, but as Mjn says.. Active is the only plausible options which costs over 100quid.. which is just rediculous. Thanks for your effort though.
19/20inch [DISPLAY PORT] Moniters

Hello all, I've purchased an ATI 5800 series and already have 2 19inch widescreen [DVI] moniters. I need an additional 19/20inch widescreen moniter which has a [DISPLAYPORT] input so i can run it with Eyefinity. I have looked around, and dell sells the displayport moniters in America but not England? Does anyone know where i can purchase one of these DISPLAYPORT moniters in England?

Cheers guys, i have looked around but too no avail.

Quote from Gabkicks :I got huge gains in crysis. LFS got a little boost too . I gain more from OC'ing my cpu than putting in a new graphics card in GTA IV, though. All the other games run silky smooth now. I was going to do a full writeup, but you can see the benchmark results here:

Thanks for that. Seems like a pretty awesome card, and it'd be a birthday present so all sounds good.

Thanks again.

Was absolutely gutted when I heard the news. Before now I didn't know how the console's matchmaking systems work, and now I do, I am shocked at how appauling it really, really is. I can't believe they are going to wreck CoD gaming with this piece of honest shit.......

Quote from Gabkicks :I sold my ATi visiontek HD 4850 and bought a Sapphire HD 5850

Hows the HD 5850 going? What CPU have you got coupled with that? What are the benchmarks on some of the 'hardcore' games?

Thinking of buying one
