Oh, if your from australia, there's a cool little community down here where everyone knows everyone and it's sorta our own little world

(nothing bad about this place, but we dont prefer racing in our sleep )

head on down to:

http://arse.norbtech.com/phpBB/

I'm sure somebody could help you out with getting S2 also! You wouldn't be the first!

I first got LFS when their homepage was black with just a plain silver 'LIVE FOR SPEED' across the top and links down each side of the page. it was version 0.04*something.

was a single player user til S1 so yeah. I dont know how old that makes me, but then... lol
A race management idea...

I have just finished a 3hr endurance race in the Australasian League here in upside-down land and had a great idea while playing...

We were using the driver swap feature in this race and while our teammate was racing, we were getting information on other racers and their individual progress. Sort of gettin a race overview.

Then it hit me. It would be great to have something that we could use that would get all the information of the race (it could maybe run in the background as one of the [shift] - F-key which would act as a monitor that you see at the F1 races on the pit wall.

It would act as F12 does, but the information would be centered and a little opaque so you could see a glimpse of the action behind the text. It would show the positions, lap information and gaps to other cars around the track (not withstanding the whole 'if i've passed the next split point then I stop displaying the time between me and you' thing). And maybe if they're in the pits or not.

this could be done as an outsim thing too in the meantime i guess but i just think having to minimise lfs and have that running in the background could be a little overkill for something that could run prety simpley.

Thoughts?

Quote from danowat :OK, so how do I "tune" it to give me realistic understeer FFB?.

Dan,

i think it'll be fixed with the new physics as there does seem to be a prob with tires at a certain force/slip angle... this may be effecting the understeer force felt

Quote from Rotary :Oh sorry, looks like I've spent the last 2.5 years or more of LFS racing somewhere I don't belong, my bad. Thank you for your enlightment. I promise to follow the straight and narrow and not step out of the box that is considered by you to be "normal". Please send me the bible on being you so I can correct my ways and learn to not be myself and become one with your way of life.

It's a matter of opinion, learn to understand others have different views on what they can and can't do based on their own life experience and its up to them to make decisions. You are not our parents, get over it. Don't like it? Tell the person who hit you, spectate, change server, start a kick vote.... wow, so many choices yet you'd rather try to say people are childish because they don't enjoy life the way you do.

Sigh, now we have after race smash up prevention nazi's... Christ I'm sick of all the "You can't do it because I don't like it" cry babies in these forums.

Edit: Yes, I may be immature in some respects (meaning others see what I find as entertainment to be childish) but in the real life issues that actually matter I have a very healthy attitude (such as starting a family). LFS is just a PC "simulation" game FFS. I can't believe I let this stupid thread get to me!

brilliant post rots! and :iagree: totally illepall

Quote from al heeley :A real F1 car, in the hands of a young untrained amateur, is a deadly thing. If LFS is to remain true to its reality core, then by definition, an LFS F1 car sim will be beyond the ability of many people, to control and race safely and competitively.

Unless I'm very much mistaken... that's the reason why we don't have the LX8 GTR yes?

sorry... a fan...

I think the kind of tracks we need now with the faster cars are more the type like...

Nordschleife, Le mans (without the chicanes), Spa... they need an atmosphere about them. Kyoto GP is quite a long track, yes, but to me it's atmosphere is still the same as any other 3-4km track... need a track with character... out there.

but lets not forget the slower cars too...

maybe one or two more tracks like Bathurst, Philip Island or brands hatch... still with character, but a little twistier.

G'day,

with me and many others now getting new wheels... in my case specifically, a Driving Force Pro... I find myself changing the rotation settings to suit various types of cars... ie 720deg for road cars, 540 for GTR cars and 450 for Formula cars.

A thought I had was to be able to save the settings between each type of car.

what do you think?
