More own startposition (Editor)

Hi,

i searched, if this suggestion already posted, but find nothing.

In LfS its already possible to create an own starting position. But only 1!
So its not possible to create layouts, where you can race against others. The second driver who joins the race, always starts in the pit.

It think, it would be great, if its possible to create more starting positions in editor up to 6? or 8?

With this there are much potential in layout tracks (Duell Race with Outline and Inline) and the possibility to create real rallycross starts by the community (5 in a row or 2-2-2 start position).

What do you mean?
[Request] Elapsed time and false start

Hello racers and developers,

i already started a topic under LfS Lapper development. But there nobody could help me. (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=62104)

Now i hope, i find some help here.

My ideas are following:

1.)
Is it possible to give the elapsed racetime back with a Chat-Command?
e.g.:
Race starts normal, so the LfS-time begins to run!
After a while the raceadmin says "Start" and LfSLapper give me the elapsed time back?

2.)
Is there a possibility to check all drivers if they move?
To check a false start AFTER the normal LfS start?
e.g.
All racers go to another starting position --> Raceadmin says somethink like "ok" --> from this time lfslapper checks if someone move --> "Start" (chatcommand) --> falsestart check end

I know that the "LfS Lapper" check the driver speed from 0-100. My little understandness for development say me, that there is a base for a false start script? Like:

Start script with Chatmsg: "5s"
if (some driver = speed >= 0 km/h)
/msg §Nick does a false start
End script with Chatmsg: "Start"

But Lapper only check the speed from "currentdriver", not from all driver?

You see, i want to use other starts in LfS. And with the exact elapsed time (given back by the chat command) i can calculate it back to the real driven racetime.
This is for a real rallycross start. So 5 drivers can go in the new startposition (placed by layout with chalks). Then the race starts and after the race i calculate the elapsed time ("lfs start time" to "race start time") back from the total elapsed time.

I hope someone have can find a pleasure for that and can help us. That will be really great!

Thanks!

Best regards,
Silvio

Hello racers and LfS Lapper Users,

i have a little idea and want to know, if its possible to implement it in LfS Lapper.

1.)

e.g.:
Race starts normal, so the LfS-time begins to run!
After a while the raceadmin says "Start" and LfSLapper give me the elapsed time back?

2.)
I saw in *.lpr that the acceleration will checked from 0-100 (1-100).
Is there a possibility in LfSLapper to check all drivers if they move?
To check a false start AFTER the normal LfS start?
e.g.
All racers go to another starting position --> Raceadmin says somethink like "ok" --> from this time lfslapper checks if someone move --> "Start" (chatcommand) --> falsestart check end

You see, i want to use other starts in lfs. And with the exact elapsed time i can calculate it back to the real driven racetime.

Thanks for your help!

Did not happen to me! Both VSync on/off.

Quote from Scawen :By the way, the shift light has been removed from all the road cars in our version, except the RA which has one in real life (same as that SHIFT UP light).

For Roadcas: Good to know. Sounds good!
But in a Racecar: I´m sure that there is only a red circle or something else...

I prefer the red circle like before for "Shift-Up" Light...
Never saw a "Shift up" in real...

FO8 "Dashboard" in Sideview = off
SiL-X

Hello all,

i dont think its a bug and more an improvement.
Yesterday i drove FO8 and i had "driver off and wheel off" in options.
Now i have a "virtuell dashboard" where i can see km/h, fuel, rpm etc...
Than i watched left or right and the "virtuell dashboard" follows and is also seen in left and right view.
It looks not very nice and i found its nicer and not more bad, when it is off in side view!

In FOX (e.g.) the dashboard is fixed in cockpit and so it won´t be show in sideview.

I know that the infos will not shown in sideview, when i had wheel on, because the infos will shown on wheel.

Thanks!

Yep, i drove 1:01.mid to 1:02 and after 6 laps the clutch heating up.
It isn´t the fall back after a gear change! It happens e.g. at the long left after the little "hill". You´re in third gear or whatever... full throttle, the rpm go in the limiter and when you get grip, the clutch haven´t enough power and get a little bit slip... This 6 rounds long and the clutch say bye bye...

I dont do flatshifting! I said that i go from throttle...

It IS possible to drive, but if you´re do fullthrottle its too sensitive for a longer time.
I will upload a replay at a later time! Then you can see, that i´m carefully.

Dont know if it is a Z13 bug or a general bug or a feature ^^
But you cant drive LX (especially the LX6) on BL2!
The clutch always overheating after ~6laps...

You can go from throttle as much as you want. There is nothing you can do...
The LX6 have so much traction on rally parts that the clutch slips...
This is really strange i think! No one build this "low clutch" in a car with this power! With LX4 its a little bit better, but not enough...

Try it! You will see!

I know that the situation for RX isn´t the best.
But the topic here is just for better starting positions!

I cant know it, because i´m not a programmer, but i think that it is not much work to change the positions to 5-5-5-5-5....
That will change so much in RX leaques!!!

I think that this thread won´t change anything.
But i always say: "If you do nothing, you only can reach nothing!"

I just can hope, that this suggestion will take a little place in the next big update!

At least i will say, that Rallycross with jokerlaps really rocks with the system of the real RX!
It´s a nice balance to only watch nice, fast and aggressive races and to drive self and get the kick of start with 5 cars in the same row!

Ahh, thanks!
In my head, i always saw 3-2-3!
In DRX its 3-2-3.

You´re right, 2-2-2 each row one "step" right!

But i think in LfS this would be difficult to implement?
A 3-2-3-2-3-2... is easier, isn´t?
SiL-X

What is IIRC?
Never heard it before...

And what is with the 2-2-2-2-2 positions? Never heard it before, too! And never saw it!

In ERC (European RX Championship) and in DRX (German RX Championship) is 3-2-3 the right position.

@Intermeadiat07:
Dunno, on 31.05 is DRX in Gründau!

Quote from The Very End :I like it, but I much rather have 5 rows either way. I think every track has room for 5 cars in wide, if not 4 (FE6 proballt just has room for 4).
So, I am in for a wider start line with rally, but I rather want 5 or 4 car wides starts.

Sorry my english isnt the best... :/
Dont know what you mean exactly with "either way"?

I mean 5 cars in a row. Like now, but with 5 cars.
The problem is, that the 2 cars in the second line lost 1-2 seconds in a heat, just because they stand some meters behind.

And in finals with 8 cars a 3-2-3 starting position would be great!

I think both should be possible for public racing...
5-5-5-5-5-5
or
3-2-3-2-3-2-3-2...
Rallycross Startingpositions

Hello,

i think new startingpositions for the rallycross tracks would be really great!

Like 5 Cars in a line each row on heats (and public driving) and 3 - 2 - 3 cars in finals!
I think on a little button, so that the admin can switch to "Heat" or "Final"!

What do you mean?

I think the two biggest bugs are:
1. that the FXR cant drive RX-Tyres.
2. And the start positions on FE5!

Oh,

thats really new for me, that it´s possible to drive a locked diff.
But can it be, that the tyres weren´t the best in this years? So they had more slip to compensate this big forces?

I heard, that it´s not possible to drive a fwd with locked diff, because the steering forces r so big, thats really hard to drive it...
Locked Diffs...

Hi,

at first:
Sorry, my english isn´t the best...

I just want to say, that i don´t like the locked diffs on hard track.
In rL you can´t drive a locked diff (and espacially not with downforce and slicks!)
Because you grip is so high, that something will break. e.g. the axle...

On autocross (Real autocross, not the autocross track in LfS) is it possible to drive a locked diff, because u have so much slippage that there will nothing happens.

What do u think?

Hello,

I played LfS and sometimes LfS crashes.
Kidcodea tell me in this thread:
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=9869
that i should run a Memtest.
I do this and have 2 Errors:

Error 1:
Test 6
Pass 0
Failing Address: 00016e6cb10 - 366,7 MB
Good: 00080000
Bad: 000820000
Err-bits: 00002000

Error 2:
Test 6
Pass 0
Failing Address: 00016f8cb10 - 367,7 MB
Good: 00080000
Bad: 000820000
Err-bits: 00002000

All other test were ok.
What can i do now to fix this Errors?

My RAM (show in Test):
2x Corsair CMX512-3200C2 = 1024 MB (Dual Channel Mode)
Speichertakt: - 199 MHz
Timing: - 3 3 3 8

On the official Corsair site:
http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/xms.html
I must have 2 3 3 6 timings?

Edit:
i load the *.pdf
and there is written, that i must have 2,5 3 3 6 timings on AMD platforms...?

Quote from Scawen :How did you make that happen? Please give me as much information as possible, where were you? In-game, entry screen, what did you press, was it online / offline? I need all the information possible to catch a crash.

EDIT : I see from the crash address you must have been in-game at the time. Does this happen every time or just once?

I was In-Game in Hotlapping Mode...
I just race around the track and then sometimes LfS crash!
It happens sometimes... After 5mins or sometimes after hours oder i have no crash!
