Drifting as a driving technique is indeed racing but has nothing to do with "style" or "showoff". It is purely used to go faster from A to B, altough at a cost, not to impress the crowd.
Drifting as in showing off (Formula Drift etc) has nothing to do with racing but is a seperate sport. Just like Cycling and BMX Freestyle are two different sports altough they both use a bicycle.
Just because drifting is not racing doesn't mean there is no overlap
I've never really seen the issue of this. Racing is not drifting and drifting is not racing. Racing is going from A to B in the least amount of time, drifting is to score points.
Doesn't matter whether you take circuit racing, drag racing, hillclimb, rally etc. Winner is the person who gets from A to B in the lowest amount of time. Drifting is about showing off, not getting from A to B in the lowest amount of time. Therefor, two seperate sports.
Any sport with a judge is pointless. Be it with horses, gymnastics, drifting, etc. Sports should be easily measurable (eg score most amount of points, get from A to B in the least amount of time). Any sport which includes a judge who is measuring things you do is a sport I cannot take serious.
Aside of that, I don't really see why you would use something to 'showoff' instead of going fast. Doesn't matter if they're using cars, horses, bikes, skateboards etc. Doesn't mean it is not good, or you're not having a talent, just don't see the point or need.
Pretty much every IMSA GTP race is available on DVD. I have about 25-35 races. Pretty cool stuff. Last thursday I got a live broadcast of the '93 Sebring 12 Hours.
If Hitler wouldn't existed, it would've taken quite a longer time before the manufacturers were able to create such a developed machines like the Mercedes-Benz and Auto-Union.
Call me horrible, but one thing that Hitler did good was to send money to Mercedes and Auto-Union. With that money they developed such an amazing cars and created the best era in motorsport to date.
Dont you have LFS open twice? If the exe files are called differently there wont be an error, otherwise LFS/Windows comes up with a "another instance open" error and the screen stays black.
I had the error at work aswell (at my intern I helped at a helpdesk), and I got the same error once.
How many hard disks do you have? I cant really remember that well, but I believe the error had to do with the harddisks both in master/slave mode (altough its amazing the PC would boot then).
at the club events I can go and walk wherever I want, but at DTM I had to spend 20 euro on a ticket to be able to go to the paddock, even if I got a gold card
I tried to like the WTCC for several years, but every race just seems boring to me. S2000 cars are way too slow (atleast they seem to be so slow). EuroSTC/ETCC was far better when there still were SuperTouring cars.
DTM is also not really a touring car series. The cars are silhouettes.
I agree DTM is not what it used to be, but the glory days where in the 90s anyway. Sadly FIA had to ruin the series, as they did with all the series.
I have been a race fan since birth, but the oldest game I can remember are Accolade Grand Prix, GP500 II and Toyota Celica Rally (I dont know what it was exactly called).
I must have been around 2 years old when I played that!
