[Always Recruiting] Team VTEC | Beginners Welcome
TechEdison
S3 licensed

Team VTEC is a beginners oriented team that anyone can join. We host two servers: a demo server and an S2 server, so there's something for everyone!

- Rules -
  • Follow the rules of clean racing
  • Be kind to each other
  • No modifications (this includes VOB mods which are banable)
  • When on the discord, speak in the appropriate channels and don't use swear words
  • No crashing. If you crash on accident, spectate and apologize
  • Respect the flags
- Requirements -
The requirements are minimal and simple. If you follow them, you are effectively part of the team regardless of what your LFS profile says.
  • If you are using the FBM, LX6, XFG, or XRG vehicles, use our skins
  • Use the team colors listed below and on the website
  • Follow our rules regardless of which server you are on*1
  • Be a member of our Discord server
*1: if you are on a cruise server (where spectating would loose money) simply pull over and apologize. If you cause only a minimal crash, just write "sry" in chat and move on. Spectate if you cause a yellow flag crash while racing.

- Other Information -

When you join the discord, send a PM to @TechEdison#6502 saying that you've joined and I will add you to the LFS team and the website members list.

Our team colors (gray = white): [VT] {USERNAME}

Servers:
  • [VT] Demo Race
  • [VT] S2 Drift

set_schedule would probably work but wouldn't that require setting up scheduled events for every time... or is there a way to loop it?
Automatic layout changer

I'm working on a drift server and am in need of a way to automatically change the layout after a specified time.

This can't be that difficult; just a timer and a list of layouts..

Any takers?

we're all a little tired, but patience is key.

New tracks probably aren't coming out anytime soon. Try some Cruise servers with custom layouts (you're S3 so you can join anything)

Quote from Ped7g :but you normally don't need to run windows applications, that's historic stuff, all modern SW is available on modern platforms.

I think you guys are missing the big picture idea I'm presenting...

Crossover phone/"desktop" setups are probably gonna become the norm at some point, and seeing as x86 won't make it into phones anytime soon, it will have to be functional on an arm device.

yes, using tilt controls would be fun and all, but the main idea behind Wine for android is just being able to run windows applications.

Phones are becoming more and more powerful. It's not as far fetched as it sounds.

Thought I would bump this old topic with some new information instead of creating a new topic.

Seems there is the possibility of Android running LFS in the not so distant future due to WINE.

With version 3.0, there is now an android port of wine for x86 and arm devices. For x86 android devices, LFS will just run and play (then someone needs to make a good system for driving itself). For ARM its a bit different though; only Windows RT (that dumb ARM version of windows 8) apps will run (or other ARM based apps for windows).

It's said they are implementing QEMU to emulate x86, but that would probably end up being terribly slow... So I see two options:

1: Port LFS to Windows RT (probably will never happen)
2: Wait for the QEMU implementation and see if its usable at all.

Just tried the arm version on my phone and it booted and gave a nice windows desktop. Haven't done any more testing.

I already had down that the design was basically a Lotus 7. The issue is, as you said, there are no i6 versions.

Those two vids are the two that I have seen that have an i6 engine...

After more research though, it would be more realistic to put an i6 bike engine in it such as the one found in the Honda CBX: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBX

Hahaha.

It was funny to hear the car spinning up... Like a jet engine.

The real LX6

So I know the LX cars are based on the Lotus Super Seven, but there was never an i6 version... My search begun to find a cool representation of the car.

I was soon brought to a couple Locost 7 projects that had an inline 6 and I figured I would share them here:

I also found this Wankle powered Locost:

You do not need a license. I started experimenting with it while I was still demo.

I will say though, S2 is totally worth it Wink

What happened to R10?
Demo server with layout?

If I set a server to demo mode, am I able to enable a layout?

A simple solution for this would be to associate a unique ID with each account...
