Hi. Dont get me wrong. Im very happy with latest LFS development. I love this game.
I dont see how driving in follow mode can be an advantage over cockpit drivers like we. Personally i cant drive the car with that view, and to tell the truth i think its funny how someone can drive a sim with that view mode.
The thing i dont agree is this kind of reality police saying people the way they should play the game

Everyone thinks they have the solution for realism. This is a game!! If you want realism then go race in real tracks with real cars. Oh by the way, i drive in cockpit view only...

edit: let them enjoy the game as it is. i dont think follow view is better for racing, not for me. i dont like the way some ppl say they know the secret to enjoy lfs at maximum

Hi mate! You have a lot to learn in setup making
You really need to go the hard way (search on forum/internet for stuff) or get someone to explain some basic stuff.

The gear ratios are important, but not so important in car handling. And its really the easiest to tweak, the most important stuff to handling is suspension and diff.

My advice: read and re-read all the info about car setups and go try it on track, modify some setup you like and see the changes. Make small changes so you can see whats going on. Its a never ending process

I had this problem too. I have http proxy i got the same error. Later i got some wireless connection and i use it only for LFS

The only problem (to me) i find with digital speedo is that i cant see the 80 km/h limit in pits
But thats a matter of time to be used with it. LFS going great!

Agree. Maybe some tracks could be more bumpy but they arent flat. I can see car vibration (not constant like some other sims). I think the solution may be flexible chassis

The sounds are important too. Suspension and chassis sounds are missing, break squealing and dirt in road too.

Yeah, i know what you mean. But this mod is funny, its total opposite (like historic rally mod)
Its like they tried to pass rfactor slide flaw and it turned very easy to control. Don't know how to explain. Maybe some find it more realistic, don't know. For me it sucks :|

Hi. Yes i tried it. I felt like the car was driving on "easy" ice. Let me try to explain. You can slide all over the place and in total control. Its like arcade. The car always slide, never grip :\ And its easy to recover from slides.
I don't know much about tires behavior, but i found f1 79 a good enjoyable mod. I have doubts about it realism though.

Just drive rfactor and push the cars to the limit. At some point funny stuff start happening. Then you will see which one is better

This mod sucks really bad try f1 79 mod
