Quote from spankmeyer :I don't know about you guys, but on my interwebs the netcode has been a-ok since the patch.

I'll bet 10 buckazoids the problem is your router/modem/ISP/knots on the underwater optic cable/position of Saturn's third ring/insert any possible reason.

And Tube's comment had a stench of trolling...

I already suggested how to fix it, I don't think you realize what "trolling" means. Besides, I paid for this game and all updates until the final version, so I will comment on the development progress whenever I want to.

My point stands: The netcode is worse than before and causes massive issues in the fast cars.
If you don't have anything substantial to add, don't drive this thread offtopic.

Quote from NorwegianViper :I know its been said that the netcode has been improved...to me it seems its the other way around

100% agreed.

since patch V it's worse than ever before. I have massive problems with cars "jumping" out of the track (late packets?), then reappearing right in front of my car. I was racing on AsGP with the GTR cars in a large grid today and there were tons of lag-induced crashes.

I suggest to completely reverse the "multiplayer update". Right now, it's nearly as bad as in NFS.

if you set "CAR 0.00" in cfg.txt, it jumps back to 2.0 automatically. possible bug?

if you can make it sound like biggie's sound #3, it'll be a step into the right direction.

take part in the next 24h race, drive 9 hours and most of the night stints, THEN rephrase your "driver fatigue" suggestion.

Sorry, I'll ammend that in a sec Considering it was a discussion on UK ISPs, I didn't think it was worth pointing out.

I didn't even notice that, kinda mixed up the Irish flag with Italy. germany is like an education nirvana

Quote from the_angry_angel :Just to fill you guys in, packet shaping is starting to become the defacto standard for "unlimited" packages.

only over the ocean, really
If an ISP starts messing with port-based priorisation/caps over here, it's usually slaughtered in the press pretty fast. Most ISPs can't afford that so the de facto standard move to get rid of "bandwidth hungry" customers is to pay them to move away.
I'm currently paying 3€/month for unlimited traffic.

Quote from thisnameistaken :I don't recall ever sleeping for more than 14 hours, but I do sleep a lot. Sleeping is one of my favourite things.

I had a dream the night before last that I was working in a restaurant kitchen and my head chef was Michael Schumacher. He was a real arsehole too - always yelling at everybody.

I hope he was quick in the kitchen as well?

BTT: round about 20 hours. sleeping is just one of the best things you can do without too much effort.

I like it, looks promising.

+1

all we'd need is a basic weight penalty which can be enforced server-side to make leagues attractive again. but then again, I already suggested this over a year ago. so did many before me.

Quote from thisnameistaken :Do you all run with the virtual mirror on in the BF1? I can't see the actual mirrors unless I make my FoV stupidly wide, and if I do that I can't see the track properly.

And: Even if I'm really careful with the loud pedal I find the rears get red hot in no time. Should I be running R3s with higher pressures or are R2s manageable if you're careful?

R3 or bust on most tracks.
other than that... well, brake, full turn-in until the tires scream for help, full throttle. TC will do the rest. It's really no rocket science.

that's what I was thinking. so maybe a 3800+ single core will perform better than a 3800+ X2.

did anybody actually make the move from single core AMD Athlon 64 to X2 and lost performance?

..looks pretty good if you ask me

i just looked at the Wii pictures... wtf is nentindo doing?! the screenshots look horrible! from what i can tell is that all it is, is a gamecube with a different look to it... this looks like crap: http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/ar...7103732570.jpg
sad thing is, its not just that one shot.. its all of them: http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/ar...7103733476.jpg

the first "screenshot" is a render.
It's EA's way of saying "buy this game, and the next one, and the next one, and maybe in 10 years live graphics will look like this"

Quote from deggis :RAC and FZ50 just highlights the current physics issues better than the other cars.

I don't believe this for a second. Both, FZ50 and RAC can be controlled perfectly. We had great, close races with them on a high level.
RAC is just one of the cars which you cannot force beyond all bounds, unlike the noob cars like BF1 which basically drive for you and all you have to do is get the turn entrance right.
LFS-style benchmark?

I'm missing some frames here and there and need to tweak some settings. Is there a benchmark anywhere which is comparable to LFS (or even better: one which is using LFS)?
The one I found ("LFSbench") is hosted on a dead website.

I'd be in need of a Windows server which can handle LFS in GUI mode to serve LFSTV, any chance you can provide something like this? If a company is behind this offer, I can offer to provide advertising on LFSTV clients in exchange.
