Boring Tracks on Race 3?
I don't know if anybody else feels this way, but I'm getting tired of turning up at Race 3, wanting some good racing, but instead finding three people in FXRs doing laps of Aston Grand Touring National GT Reversed Double Chicane Long Route GP Circuit

Basically, what's on Race 3 most of the time is the longest (and IMO most boring) tracks that LFS has on offer. They may be ok with lots of people, but there simply aren't many people on Race 3 most of the time. Couple that with the fact that at quieter times, everyone is driving GTRs or GT2s, Mr. XFR has a boring track AND nobody to provide competition

Kyoto GP long... Yawn
Aston GP... Yawn

etc.

Maybe I might see the light when I get the Gold license and can at least lap the long tracks at a quicker speed
tbh with tracks on race 3 my biggest worry are those that are too small one example being so3, it can barly take a load of ufrs in a ufbr race let alone a race 3 race with mainly gtrs on it. but i do see what your saying about big tracks and the gfr's and i do find them a bit long sometimes but there are perfect for the gtrs so need to be there
Well, to my mind, the long GP tracks are what Race 3 is all about. Most of the tracks you seem to despise are my favorites in LFS, though (Kyoto GP, all the Aston GP configs as well as Aston North, Westhill). OTOH, if you've only driven them in the GFRs I can well understand how you might feel that way.

Yah, you will.

However, I've lost count of the number of times Race 3 has been on Fern Bay Green Normal/Reversed in the last few weeks

At least a gd full server on Race 3 is almost guaranteed to provide some excellent racing, as well as friendly competitors

Oh god not SO3 - epic fail with GTRs IMO.

But FE1 would be cool
yh fe1 you can just scrap with a few peope but loads of peopel in all 3 classes causes a bit of mayhem tbh

and yes so3 is as bad as you think lol

I have done a few races in Race 3 on FE1r... it was rather epic, I must say
I don't know about the short tracks being bad for GT's! We have had some awsome battles at SO3 and other short tracks. Race 3 with its multi class racing is the best on short tracks where you have to lap slower cars and get lapped.
This is where the real racers are separated from the Hotlappers. If you can't be patient and wait for an opportunity to get around you end up in the wall or making a brilliant pass on the outside.
Also a long race on a short track is the best for you to work on tire preservation and saving the car until others are dropping out because they crash or their tires are shot.
So bring on the short tracks and more of them!!
im not saying tracks like so3 cant be the base for some great races but it depends on who is racing and tbh i think its a bit risky but it does sort the men from the boys thats for sure lol
I really don't have a problem with any of the tracks on Race 3. The long tracks are superb. Proper race tracks, which are great for the GT1's. KY3/r and the long Aston tracks are perfect for GT racing

As Todd says, the shorter tracks provide a completely different challenge, with all that traffic to pass (if your in a GT1)

I guess JO53PHS is on of those people that would hate to see the Nordschleife in the sim Too Boring

I dont agree that theres hardly anyone on race 3 either. Maybe i've just got lucky, but theres always loads on when i join, and if there isn't it seems to fill up pretty quickly once there are 3 or 4 people on.
lol if i remember correctly you were on the server the day when so3 and fe1r came on one after the other and i also remember you were realy the only one doing any good at it lol, getting lap records on both tracks on the first races on each, grrrr, but i personally find it a bit much having a full field of gtrs breathing down you neck when you have an xfg with tyres hotter than lava lol but maybe thats cos im totally rubbish

Well with that particular track it would be more because there are too many corners that I could mess up

After finding ways to make my XFR less arse-hangy, I have come to consider these long tracks as 'ok'

Eh, that's the Moose for ya There's this saying I heard on the dMr server a while ago from one of the RSR guys:

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose... unless you're The Moose".

We all lol'd at that Most of the time he's in a class of his own Or it could be that we all just suck, I don't know
