I had to go through this just a week ago, and after one day of gathering information of both consoles, the choice was easier than it could be. Hope I'll receive my PS3 by xmas, until that I have to cope with this rental machine
And also if you want to play on your xbox wirelessly its an extra £50 for the bridge.
Also if you want to be playing blu ray you'll have to buy a seperate blu ray player, thats an extra £100 ish.
I remember reading an article about Xbox and PS3's. And how the PS3 is pretty much a one off payment, whereas with the xbox its not. :/
Yes and then the PS3 Will cost an extra £100 for all that extra crap.
I cant remember how much the PS3 was at launch, because mine cost well over £500 but it came with 5 games, and 2 movies.
But if they were to just add 3 more cell cpus and a rsx, then its going to end up costing even more.
If sony were devoloping the PS4, which their not, then they would be spending millions on researching how to get the interior parts for it to be even cheaper, and run even better.
I bought my PS3 about week ago, and I'm absolutely satisfied with it. I have a Bravia FullHD too, and it was a crime to not get one hehe. My ps3 is the 160GB version.
Go for one, its a nice choise.
I never liked Xbox, from the beggining and I didn't want only a gaming console, I want to watch films in Bluray too.
You are all right somehow. However, until i see an actual benefit of having the PS3 (which is collecting dust in some corner right now)... i'll be happy about having my xbox.
Killzone stands as one of my favorite FPS games. I loved it... especially the trenches at the start. I hated the Sniper rifle, though. Having the reticule move around on the screen was pretty daft.
I recall Killzone. However I can't remember if it was actually any good. Probably not, since I got rid of it pretty pronto, it only took me like 3 days to finish it, so I took it back to the shop and said it was broken LOL.
Will be worth a try on PS3 in a 2nd incarnation, but I wouldn't expect it to be 'better than Halo'. Even though I don't see what's so awesome about Halo, either. I bought Halo 3 and took it back the next day because I was like "Ok... so where's the action and fun again?"
It's not as good as Hey Mr Thompson, but it did make me pick up the Fray album
I understand that KZ1 suffered from frame rate issues and that was really what dragged it down. I've never played it so I can only go on the Metacritic scores, though. I'm hoping that KZ2 has ironed out the problems because my PS3 could really use a big, brash, violent shooter. At least the beta is getting some good feedback.
I did the same when mine broke down... couldn't be bothered to send it in for repair. It lasted almost three years and the new one was barely 200 euros.
