The online racing simulator
Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :2) If we restrict the server to bronze, it will die after the release of the VWS server.

What VWS server? As far as I know there's been no mention of a CTRA VWS server
Could we restrict/ban access to the server for people with a yellow flag ratio above 15%/20%? For the last 3 nights you could probably set a limit of above 90% and reduce the number of racers by half.

Problem is it's getting hard to smile about the situation.

15/20%??!!!!!!?!??!!?

Thats a tad low IMO
CTRA average is 25.75%. That'll do nicely.
i have 38(?)%

but i am a clean racer

That'll do me too. Right on the button
How on earth does a clean racer get a yellow flag ratio of 38%?
Yellows : 1088 -> 25%
Quote from NigelY :How on earth does a clean racer get a yellow flag ratio of 38%?

because i am not very fast?
Quote from G!NhO :because i am not very fast?

I am not verry fast as well but I have a 16% ratio, so i dont think thats the problem

Regards,
On the subject of yellow flag ratios, 123% --> 37%

And I was clean in my early days... but I just spun off or crashed into the wall at every corner
Maybe he's a clean driver but VERY bad in avoiding bad drivers
BTW mine is 7%
Nice to see this server so crowded.
There is problems with slow racers everywhere, the shity problem with this car is the colision detection, it handles contact very bad, better to avoid hitting someone, even small nudges can send the car into random directions, worse when there's some lag involved.
So you guys rather race in the next UFBR championship, aye?

Seeing that so many of you like racing these cars makes me think of hosting the next baby-R mayhem :-)
Controlled races with good drivers and admins who are actually there, at least while the races last :-)

+1, I was thinking of this a long time ago. But we, CTRA licensed with less than 15% of yellow flags ratio are only a minority. 60 or 70% would be a better limit.

When will Season 3 take place?
I'd love to join in with the big grids on UFbR, but my POS PC gives horrible FPS at the starts, such that I can only race with about a max of 10 people on the start. I do fine after the first couple of turns, but when there's much more then 10 those first turns are so bad I sometimes can't control the car at all, much less keep race pace.
And since I'm usually starting right around the middle of the field, that's a sure recipe for disaster.
Restricting people because of yellow flag ratios is not fair.
  • A clean racers get more yellow flags per spin/accident because they wait for a gap to rejoin.
  • Yellows are also given when drivers anticipate on accidents
  • Drivers can get yellows because of other peoples mistakes/agression
  • Yellows are spammed on some combo's because the detection is flawed.
I believe Sam once or twice asked people not to read too much into the yellow flag ratio's aswell.

For the record my ratio is 13

Not true,
- Clean racers don't take to much risk so they don't spin that often.
- If you anticipate the right way you just drive around the accident.
- See point 2 and you don't get a yellow flag.
- It's the same for every one so you can't use that as a excuse

Demon, I think you are missing my point. I am not summing up excuses for yellows. All I am trying to say is that yellows are not proportional to cleanliness.
My point is that it really is proportional to cleanliness
O.k. lets agree to disagree on this one.
I agree with Joris.

Obviously, when someone has 40% or more there probably is something wrong with his driving but a driver with a ratio of 15% isn't necessarily cleaner than a driver with a ratio of 20%. IMO.
