The online racing simulator
Rules (Revised!!! - Revisions in blue)
The Car = FXR with 32% air restriction.

Entered Drivers = As per the published list of drivers confirmed as entrants available at the iTCC website.

Reserve Drivers = Drivers not confirmed as entered drivers, who have been admitted to the Reserve List.

1. RACE FORMAT FOR THE iTCC

1.1 Championship Format:-

There are two championships within the iTCC - the Driver's Championship and the Team Championship.

Drivers score points for the Driver's Championship by finishing in point-scoring positions at each of the races in which they compete. The cumulative total of the points they have scored in all races that season is their championship points.

Teams of a maximum of 2 drivers can enter the Team Championship. If there are more than 2 drivers from a particular team entered in the Championship, then they may still compete in the Team Championship as part of a second team - e.g. iCON #2, CoRe #2, etc.

The drivers of that team add their individual points together to score point for the Team Championship.

Track Order = As per the published calendar available at the iTCC website.

1.2 Event Format (Irrespective of Track):-

* Reserve Shooutout - 15 minutes
* Qualifying - 15 minutes
* Race 1 - approx 25 mins (grid as per qualifying)
* Break - 5 minutes
* Race 2 - approx 25 mins (grid as per Race 1 result)
* Break - 5 minutes
* Race 3 - approx 25 mins (Grid - Top 6,7,8,9, or 10 from Race 2 reversed depending on number drawn by lottery – thereafter as per finishing order of Race 2)
* Debrief and preliminary results.

** There will be a “lag lap” at the start of the first race (lag lap = start to 1st sector)

2. EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR DURING EVENT

Infractions of the rules below and in Rules 2.3.x will be penalised in one of two ways:-

* During the race by way of a drive-through, stop-go or disqualification.
* After the race by way of the Penalty System (Rule 2.1)

The race stewards decision is final.

2.1 Penalty System

Behaviour deemed by admins to display a lack of awareness of other cars/track conditions will receive a warning.

Drivers who receive a warning for their behaviour will be expected to take heed of the warning - if they behave in the same manner a second time they will be deemed to be displaying unsporting behaviour and be penalied as such.

Chatting before the race is declared over by Race Control - -1 point per entry
Unsporting behaviour - -5 points
Failure to follow league procedures = -5 points
Causing an avoidable accident = -5 points
Deliberate blocking during qualifying = -5 points
Failure to drive to pits at the end of race = -5 points
Failure to notify admin of an accident from which you cannot continue = -5 points
Deliberate Wrecking = League Ban

2.2 Driver Obligations

Driver Names

Driver names should be of the format - 00 J.Bloggs, i.e. the number follwed by the initial of the forename,then the surname.

Entered Drivers must be present on the Race Server 15 minutes before the Reserve Shootout is due to commence. This is so Reserve Drivers are given the greatest possible chance of competing in the Championship should an Entered Driver fail to turn up for the race.

Drivers will be also expected to obey the basic rules applicable on all ICON league servers (see Rule 2.3). In addition the following instructions are to be observed and complied with:

2.2.1 Event Procedure:-

Reserve Shootout

The Reserve Shootout gives drivers on the Reserve List a chance to compete in the iTCC. At each event a certain number of reserve places will be available.

At the first round of every season, some reserve places are available. All reserve drivers are to complete flying laps in the 15-minute 'Reserve Shootout' session. The fastest of these reserve drivers will then take the remaining places not taken by the top 15 point-scoring drivers from the season before and compete in the iTCC. (Note: for Season 1, the reserve take up the places not took by Pre-Season drivers)

At the second and subsequent rounds, ONLY the top 15 drivers in the Driver's Championship are 'locked in'. All other competitors, both entered and reserve, must complete flying laps in the 'Reserve Shootout'. The top 15 competitors in the Reserve Shootout will then take the remaining places on the server and compete in the iTCC.

This system is designed to ensure that all drivers have competition - those at the front AND those at the back, whilst also allowing new drivers to compete with established drivers.

ONLY the drivers on the Reserve List are allowed on track during the Reserve Shootout.

Any Entered Drivers joining the track will be deemed to have failed to follow league procedures. (-5 points)

Qualifying / Break

You are free to join and leave the session at any time.
You must spectate as soon as race control announces the end of session.

Race 1 / 2 / 3

You should join the grid ONLY when instructed to by Race control.
If you have an accident from which you are unable to continue (e.g. if you end up on your roof) you must notify the ADMIN at the earliset opportunity. Do NOT Telepit ot Telespectate.
At the end of the race you must drive back to the pits and then spectate.

Debrief and preliminary results

No procedure required

Red Flag Coniditions

The red flag will be shown (or will be assumed to have been shown) if the Race Server crashes or if there are a large number of disconnections. This will be called by the Race Director.

Yellow Flag Conditions

The yellow flag will be shown if there is an incident on-track from which the affected driver/drivers cannot self-recover back to the track or pits, for example a car rolled onto it's roof.

Drivers should NOT telepit or telespectate, instead they should signal the Race Director who will then show the Yellow Flag, and deploy the Safety Car.

The Safety Car will circulate around the track, and the driver in the lead of the race when the Yellow Flag was shown will take up his position behind the Safety Car. All other drivers will take up their positions (in the order they were in when the yellow flag was shown) behind the leader.

Any cars ahead of the Safety Car when the Yellow Flag was shown may circulate around the track to take up their race positions.

No overtaking is allowed.

The driver(s) affected by the incident will then be told by the Race Director to telepit/telespectate. The affected driver(s) will play no further part in that race.

Whilst under yellow, the field will be led by the Safety Car, who will be instructed to maintain a suitable pace. The field will be then given the
instruction 'SAFETY CAR COMING IN THIS LAP' by the Race Director. Before the final turn onto the straight, the Safety Car will accelerate away and drive into the pitlane. The lead car is to lead the field at an even pace onto the start/finish straight. When the Race Director is satisified that the field is lined up for the restart in a fair manner, he will give the green flag signal. It is at the discretion of the driver of the lead car when he chooses to accelerate to take the restart. Once he has started accelerating, he must not brake or lift off the throttle. No overtaking is allowed before the start/finish line. Drivers must not: jump the start, lag back and subsequently gain a significant speed advantage on a restart, or begin an overtaking manoeuvre before the green flag is shown.

2.3 General Server Rules

‘Race Hard, but Race Fair’

We all want a good race, so that means think about your fellow racers. Overtake cleanly, give your fellow racer space on the track, and generally conduct yourself to the highest standards. Here are a few pointers:-

2.3.1 Overtaking

Overtaking must be done cleanly, with nil or minimal contact. Leave the ‘dodgem-style’ of driving in the fairground where it belongs. It does not belong on the track or on an ICON server.

2.3.2 Being Overtook
‘Brake testing’ and deliberate weaving in front of an overtaking car is seen as unsporting and will jeopardise your championship position. This does not mean you can’t defend your position fairly and cleanly, however.

2.3.3 Rejoining the race

Take care when rejoining the race, either after an incident or when rejoining from the pit-lane. There will be other drivers on track travelling much faster and wrecking their race as you rejoin by not paying attention to their position will be seen as causing an avoidable accident.

2.3.4 Conduct

No insults, No swearing. No arguing. We don’t expect to have to revisit this rule ever. So be warned.

2.3.5 Be Fair

Don’t take people out of the race. If you hit someone, let them pass before rejoining the race. Apologise at the end of the race.

2.3.6 Observe the Rules of the Track

Let lapping cars by when you are blue-flagged. Slow-down and don’t overtake when yellow-flagged. Observe penalties such as drive-throughs and stop-go penalties.

2.4 Protests

All protest should be submitted to the iTCC Admins via the relevant forum thread in this forum.

3. POINTS SYSTEM & SUCCESS BALLAST

Points System

Race 1 / 2 /3

1st = 12
2nd = 10
3rd = 8
4th = 7
5th = 6
6th = 5
7th = 4
8th = 3
9th = 2
10th = 1

Fastest lap of the race = 1 bonus point.
Pole position = 1 bonus point

Success Ballast

The imposition of success ballast is based on 2 criteria: championship points and race results.

a) according to the Championship points: 1 kg per every 3 points scored

b) according to the sum of points obtained in the three races of the last event, according to the following scale:

1st = 30 kg
2nd = 25 kg
3rd = 20 kg
4th = 15 kg
5th = 10 kg
6th = 5 kg

These ballasts will be scrapped and recalculated after each championship round.

Handicap weights a) and b) are cumulative up to a maximum of 70 kg

At the first round of the championship, nobody carries ballast (Because no-one has won a race or has any points)

At the second and each subsequent round of the championship, any driver entering the championship for the first time that season will have a 'new-entrant' ballast of 30 Kgs for that round. (The WTCC 2008 ballast rules had the same clause)
Question:Is reserves shoot out will be before every race?
Quote from oldnavy :Question:Is reserves shoot out will be before every race?

If you watch point 1.2 there is a kind of schedule. The reserves shoot out will be before every Event, not before every Race. It is similar to UFRC's pre qualification system in Baby-R Season 1.
So for the first round, where only 4 spaces are available for reserve shootout drivers... was that the test round, or is that the first round of the season on Jan 11?
Quote from DeadWolfBones :So for the first round, where only 4 spaces are available for reserve shootout drivers... was that the test round, or is that the first round of the season on Jan 11?

It's the first round of the season on 11 January. 4 (or more, if some of the confirmed entrants don't turn up) spaces will be available to the top 'shootout' drivers.

Basically we will have a full server of 30 drivers - this will be made up of the confirmed entrants and the fastest reserve drivers.

For the second round and subsequent rounds, we will operate the 'lock-in' system.
but server lets 32 players in gird.Why we dont use all space?
Quote from oldnavy :but server lets 32 players in gird.Why we dont use all space?

I guess that's because 32 drivers on the grid=heavy lag+huge pile-ups in T1
Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :I guess that's because 32 drivers on the grid=heavy lag+huge pile-ups in T1

Exactly, and ALSO we have a Safety Car. But yes, lag is a factor.
Not all tracks allow 32 cars, either.
Yep. Which means that round will have 29 drivers + 1 pace car, unless we forego the pace car.
Quote from DeadWolfBones :Yep. Which means that round will have 29 drivers + 1 pace car, unless we forego the pace car.

30 drivers on each race, so yes, we'll not have the pace car at that round.
or we wait until someone will drop of race and then pace car will drive in

Sad but i cant take part in round1,because going for holiday and my wheel is broken

But see you in round 2 good luck all.

Oke got a question aswell,

just to show my point ill give a example i cant explane it well enough in proper english,

Driver A wins the first event and gets 30 kg,

Next event he gets the 30 kg ofc but a fast driver from the reverse shootout who wasnt availeble to do the first race gets threw the shootout into the event,

does he get penalty weight aswell?

imo the drivers from the shootout should use the average penalty weight of the normal entries or something like that
From what I understood, the reserve shootout will (after round 1) consist of people who aren't in the top 15 in the championship standigs.
From reading what is posted above, the drivers joining from the shootout would only have ballast from championship points (obviously if they have any), and also the ballast for finishing in the top 6 at the previous meeting.

Rudy, if you took maximum points from a meeting you would in fact have 43kg of ballast for the next meeting.

As an aside, I assume the rule "You MUST spectate immediately if you have an accident from which you are unable to continue (e.g. if you end up on your roof)" will be removed given we are to have a Safety Car?
p1=30 kg is what stands in the rules :\

but i mean more like,

for me to become champ i need to win the last event ( 3 races )

but a fast driver who hasnt compeated whole season joins threw the shootout
and drives the last race and wins becaus he got no extra weight and lets say worst case senario i got 70kg

thats not fair imo
30kg is for 1st place overall in the previous meeting but then you need to add the 13kg you get from having 40 points (40/3 = 13.333)

If the driver is fast surely he will have got into a race by the time it comes to the final rounds? If not then surely he deserves to be there because he is fast?

Unfortunately that's the downside of ballast being applied every three races, the fast person in your example above would never get ballast whereas if you applied it each race he would be slowed if he won a race.

I think since the sign up is now closed then no one should have ballast just because they can't get into a race for a few meetings. If signups reopened, then I think that should change - IIRC the BTCC has a late entrant ballast for anyone who joins after the first race.

My opinions of course
you dont get my point... and i cant explane it better in proper english...
Rudy is saying that the effects of ballasting on worst case senario.

If he is carrying maximum ballast into the last event. with him needing to win all three remaining races to get the championship. The ballast would be weighing him down.

Rudy is saying that if this were the case and there is a driver who is not carrying ballast wins because that driver isnt ballast ruddy is feeling stripped of the win and seeing that its an unfair advantage that the winning driver isnt slowed down by ballast.

I hope thats right. Is it Ruddy.

Anyways. Thats what makes the racing more exciting is the ballast because it means it slows down the faster driver who is winning to keep the racing close. However you can still win while carrying ballast its just a litle more difficult. Its also what makes BTCC so much more fun to watch than F1. You never know who's gonna win.

Well the first part is, if someone who did all races and then wins i got no problem with it, only if that guy comes in threw the shootout

like we are driving the whole season with ballast and 1 guy who is on the shootout list now does no races accept the last one, then joins without penalty weight and can possible rip someone his championchip
That's a valid point, IMO.

Shootout drivers entering the series mid-season should get a "spec" ballast to keep them from sniping quicker drivers who have ballast.
