LFS review
After going trough the previous ,similar thread I think that some of us might presume that other gamers can't actually write a full review on our beloved game without missing or blowing out of proportion something, at least that's what I feel.

But while watching some of the Zero Punctuation videos on The Escapist, I decided to visit their forum where I stumbled upon a review on LFS. Now I don't know if he's one of us that play the game on a daily basis or a simple ordinary gamer but I think that he wrote a pretty good review. Although I don't like his cheesy jokes and comparison it's never the less better then what the previous moron did but I will just give you the link and let you decide that

Should I prepare the flame weapons?

It was written yesterday by a guy called Bmb... You're kidding, right? this is just shameless advertising for your review... why didn't you just say that?
Anyway, I guess what "the reviewer" (you) wrote is kind of true (if a little list-like), apart from choosing 3 factions between racing, drifting and crooze, where you further increased the divide between the groups by insulting them.
He compared LFS to a MMORPG... Wow, just wow.
Thank god i left World of WTFcraft.
the best bit was when someone replied and said f1 2002 was a better game lol, how stupid can you be

I just simply didn't wanted to be flamed for trying to write a review.

Instead you're not getting flamed for pretending to have found a review written by you!

And I'm glad that didn't happened.

So it wasn't actually that bad?
Nice review, there are not many detailed reviews for LFS in the internets, so kudos to you, although there are many things that I would like to find in a LFS review:

- A detailed explanation of the changes in the simulation physics from the first alpha version.
- A comparison between LFS physics and those of iRacing, rFactor and GTR.
- A more in deep explanation of the process of creation of the tracks. Creating non real world tracks is very interesting, you're free of some constraints, but also you have the responsability of creating a "good track". What inspired the designers, were all the tracks multipurpose, there were tracks specially designed for certain cars?
- The same about cars.
- A little background from the developers, why they choosed this way of developing a sim racing game? They are, in fact, "indie developers" that distribute digitally, something quite advanced when the game appeared.
- A detailed background of the spin offs, cruiser and drifters, how and when they appeared? What the developers think about? They take them into account for future developements of the sim?
- A bit of a glimpse about the future evolution of LFS .
- A review of the biggest leagues, how the community functions, the selfpolicing in servers, behaviour you can expect, etc.

WOW!

I suppose all of this information can be found scattered, but it would be nice to have it in one place, and maybe call it "All About Live For Speed", and put a link in the main website...
It's alright, but it does read a little fanboy-ish in places.

And @Peaknik, the only people interested in things like that are people who already play racing sims and more than likely already know all of that info (or have the blinkered "Game X is better than all others la la la" view).
As far as a regular review goes, you don't need to cover physics changes and the like because unless you're a simmer already, it's boring.
What you're talking about is a Wiki, and we already have one of those. It's just that it doesn't get updated enough
Yeah, Dajmin, you're right, that is what Internet does best, to bring together people with similar interests...

I have been playing videogames for more than 30 years, and racing sim games are the only games I keep playing, but the racing sim community seem pretty scattered and divided among fanboy disputes (at least the ones that care to come to forums to write about it...)

Anyway, from all the sim racing games out there, perhaps LFS is the one that gets less attention, and that should change!
