Title says it all. Once again, I don't know if this is the right section to post this thread, but there it is. I'd be thankful if you'd give me more recommendations about free harmless antivirus and system optimizers. AVG isn't an option, since I uninstalled it and reinstalling failed.

I not pointing the finger on anyone here, I just say what I generally thinks is the main problem Internett is, or can be a fairly nice place to be, as long as you don't go into unknown sites and such.

Np, should be me appologying (or hows that spelled) .

If you want good protection I would use, tho you did say you did not want it, AVG+Spyware Search And Destroy, aswell as other tools like Hijack this etc etc.

If you want good protection, get a condom.

now I'm asking for good system optimizers. (apart from ace utilities)
btw, better asking than googling. specially in these cases when most free antivirus can f..k my system nastily.

I've been using Avast for ages, but I find it gives way too many false negatives for my liking. Plus it takes years to do a full scan of my entire PC. I tried MalwareBytes today, and it did a full scan in an hour and a half, and found 1 actual infection, in the registry. Plus it didn't mark what Avast marked (even though I know they're safe) as dangerous. I still like Avast's On-Access protection though, it's saved my skin a fair few times with dodgy sites

Most system optimizers and shit. Tbh you don't need much more than a registery cleaner and regularly defrag your HD.
