My friend just got an apply macbook laptop and is finding it hard to get LFS installed and working,is there a different way to D/L it Mac software

I play on my Macbook. You have to install Windows (best to get XP unless you have more that 2gb of RAM) with Boot Camp Assistant. Then you install LFS like normal on your Windows partition.

or, there is a Wine (windows emulator) port for mac or commercial "frontend" for it called CrossOver. LFS works under both of them, tested, approx 30-50% FPS count comparing to windows on same machine

have you tested with darwine?
