Cheapest Way To Unlock A Pink W910i?
GF's bought a Pink Sony Ericsson W910i on Orange - turns out the Pink ones can't be unlocked for free via flashing, so I need to pay to have it unlocked.

Orange want £20, which seems like a rip-off imo, and I think DaVinci want €25 which is even worse

Anyone else got any idea? Cheap as possible, please...

I read something where you can get codes or something from a programme to unlock it, I can email you a site where you can download it, i've not tested it because I've not needed to, when you mean it's locked, you mean she has entered her pin incorrect a certain amount of times?

or you can normally find a place in town that will do it cheaply, we have many phone shops like a place called matrix who unlocks phones for like £5.
Yeah, take it to your local market, usually some phone stands where you can get it unlocked for £5-10, not too bad

Locked as in locked to a network.

It's not a Nokia, so the odds of finding a program to do it for free are pretty much 0.

There is a place in the market that does it but frankly I really don't trust it - sure, they *may* use an unlock clip etc, or they may just try a firmware flash and seriously **** things up...

EDIT - Plus i'm sure they'd charge more than £10 to do this phone - on an "easy" phone they'd do it for a fiver, but if you wanted to you could probably do it for free on your own - i.e. on my CID49 W810i's...

Well tbh i'm not in touch with phones atm, I've got one but it needs to be replaced, anyway I sent you a link off a site I know, if it works great, if not then I suppose your market, it's worth a try, but if not then you may aswell pay the full price.

AVG says the Ericsson bit is a virus so meh...
It must be possible, eBay says so

If you can't find your own way, you could try messaging the seller(s) to see if they'll share. It could be something really simple that they could email you.

I can get it unlocked for £20 from Orange - but I want it done cheaper!
Best bet really is geezer on the market.

He'll have a Griffin box and a piece of software to do it. Throw him a tenner and the phone, go have a pint and bosh, unlocked phone.
go to your market and get it unlocked for a few quid.
Haven't tried them, but there's a few bits like this one, which slot between the SIM and phone, and remove the network jamming. For ~£5, it's worth a go anyway
