Usually there is not a problem with there being a "9" and a "09" in the same race.

I don't want leading zeroes to avoid any possible confusion that might come if I call car 09, when there is also a car 9.

I dont understand how there could be confusing between the 9 and 09...they are technically and stock car wise two different numbers and they dont even appear similar. One has a zero one doesn't and that sets them apart.
