The Scirocco - in real life
Hi folks,

this seems to be on topic but off topic as well, so here's the question:

How do you like the new Scirocco in real life? Has anybody of you tested it on the road yet and under real live conditions, or does anybody of you even own it? What about its qualities and disadvantages, handling, practicality and so on?

Ever since just looking at it it grows and grows on me and for the moment I could even consider it as my next car - as far as I could probably afford it.

Top Gear should have taken the Scirocco instead of the Fiesta for their normal, classic review - so now it's up to you to take the roles of Jeremy, Richard and James!
I haven't ever seen one i dont think, but i do think your question gives oppertunity to a brilliant experiment if anyone in the lfs community happens to own one, or at least gets to drive one at some point.

Drive the real road car, then once its released, jump into the VWS on lfs and see how similar it feels, then post how close you think it is to the real car.
is it front wheel drive? i hope it's not.
it is fwd i havent driven one because im 14 but ive been to a few vw dealers last week and been looking inside them and they look superb inside and they are quite large and 20k is a bit pricey i think
They seem a little too close to the Golf in the range to me but they look much sexier. A mate of mine has one on order but won't get it for another few months.

There's a forum here with a few pics from real owners in the delivery room section (so they do exist ):

One used to cut me up regularly on the way to work doing twice the speed limit.

They seem quite nippy...
Going for a test drive in one in a couple of weeks...

...not intending to buy, just curious (although if I'm blown away by it then I'll have to have a word with the Bank Manager )
