What ya think?
Hey, I've got a project due for a videography class at the end of break, and I would like some feedback about what I have so far. I choose to do my project on mountain biking, because, um, well I already had almost all of the footage. I am looking for some pointers/critiques on the editing and shots, not on the riding (which, yes, I do know sucks). Thanks (Its fairly low quality, so click on the watch in high quality thingy). And to any really observant people, yes, I did steal this music from topgear.

Well, yes. But I ask you to keep in mind, much of that footage is a tad old, and and the day we filmed in the snow, it was around 15-20 degrees, which isnt that cold, but the day previous it was in the 40s.

Plus, I dont see any of your vids.
i think its nothing special, like the title

Thats because i have better things to do than videotape my crap riding?

You want criticism?
If a movie is to "catch" me, it has to be enjoyable, and has to draw me in.

You could have the best music and editing in the world, but it'll still be crap because you have shit footage.
The camera work, and angles are fun.

But you could have gone faster, and gone higher...

i like it it reminds me of my enduro bike times on the forest
Nothing special

Trust, me, I have better things to do as well. Plus, I though you said you could bunny hop higher? Now you say you ride like crap? You cant criticize my riding if you yourself is crap. (also, I started riding riding the beginning of the summer, and riding more then twice a week at the beginning of Aug or so).

There we go. Thats more along the lines of what I'm looking for, but be specific. What didnt you like about the angles? Keep in mind most of that footage was shot with my project in the back of my mind.

You've never been trail riding have you? We rode around 15 miles that (the trails with no snow) day, which isnt much, but it was the first time we'd been riding for a month or so.
I just figured I'd post this here. It is my final product (well, I'd be willing to go back and maybe fix a couple of things like audio levels).

It's ok he has nothing better to do. Let him ramble on to himself.

Apart from the low-quality issue, careful use of fade in/fade out would work wonders. Pretty simple use of some basic editing tools would help as well. Quite hard to advise without actually having the footage infront of my face to experiment with.

What editing software do you use? If you say Windows Movie Maker I'll shoot you.

(E: Although it seems I am pretty much a month out of date, nvm )
Its a nice video, I like the beginning "Woop woop woop woop woop"

I'm using Premiere elements 7. Making this movie and a few others has given me a bunch of knowledge. I think after exams are over I'm going to sit down and watch some tutorials.

haha lol! I've also gotton bigger air jumping on my mom's trail bike! I jumped, literally, a 25 foot gap (if I do call it that). Sadly, my mom's handle bars couldn't take the impact. They bent when I landed. Anyway, my brother does HUGE jumps. He has a $4000 bike, and he already did a mountain bike race. He also went over to Moab, UT (Utah) with some friends for a weekend, and he said he did doubles 50 feet long. He also jumped a fire road in Colorado, or somewhere. I forgot. But, what kind of bike do you have?

As I've gotten more and more into Mountain Biking, I've realized that exaggeration is fairly normal. Plus, doing a race means almost nothing. I've done several, but that doesnt mean I'm shredding gnar. And as the famous saying goes, "pics, or it didnt happen."

so, but then he did a few more, then sliced his finger all the way down to slicing the muscle when he was at work. Also, have you ever jumped a 40 foot wide fire road where people have seriously hurt themselves by doing it? Also, i can't use my brothers cell phone where the pictures ARE on it because he'd kill me, or he'd eat me.

Do I believe you brother jumped a fire road? Sure, why the hell not. Never heard of a 40 foot wide fire road, though. What I'm doubting is the 25 foot "gap" done on your mommy's bike. Unless, of course it is one of those with super smooth trannys. If so, I'd love to see pics of the gap, because I'm always looking for ideas.
