Saints Row 2

or

GTA4
GTA IV by a country mile, much more background to the series and much nicer to look at and use.
It depends what you want to do, but my personal opinion is that GTA4 is a much more stylish and original game. Saints Row is like GTA4 for stupid people, everything is dumbed down and not quite as good as a result.
Well, I finished GTA4 in a couple of weeks (Maybe 20 hours gameplay or so, but if you did all the side-missions and tasks like dating and going out with Roman/freinds for pool it could be well over 100 hours of gameplay..) but when I finished, and after I'd listened to all of the radio stations that interested me, and doing some stunting... there wasn't really much left..
That is where GTA4 is let down, there is not enough to do. But the online gameplay can be stupidly fun when you find a nice enough bunch of people to play with. I love the physics too, so I can just waste an hour driving around in the cars doing J turns and powersliding around corners, or just doing burnouts until the tyres explode.
GTA:San Andreas is still, imo, by far the best GTA game to date. That game was so awesome I bought it twice and probably spent at least 1000 hours on it, finished it some 5 or 6 times (only 1 or 2 times were done using cheats), each time doing something differently or trying a new path through a mission. And, I think, the story in SA is better than GTA4...which left me feeling rather...empty? Ok so you kill the dude and now what? Nothing else happens, y'know?

At least in SA you finally kill Tenpenny and Big Smoke (after you found out what all the subtle hints about him not being loyal to "The Grove" throughout the game) and can get on with life in the hood.

And GTA:SA was awesome fun to cruise around on because A)It wasn't totaly impossible to navigate, by the time I'd finished the game the first time I knew exactly how to get anywhere from anywhere, on GTA4 I couldn't even find a gunshop without looking on the map and using GPS. >_<, and B)You had the car customization thing, which although a bit NFS was pretty cool.
Both and call of duty 4
BTW add me if you have live
GT: Muttski11lz
Both VERY different games, and both pretty good IMO
only played gta, so ill say its better
saints row looked over saturated and cartoony. plus the controls were really jerky. GTA4 on the other hand is as attractive as it is fun.

but it's a bullshittin story... how a guy who's trained only in gang fights can get an experiment out of the goverment (area 69 mission) ???

They actually explode? I had no idea. That's pretty cool IMO. I'll try it out tonight

I started playing GTA4 again a few weeks ago. I'm just continuing with the savegame where I completed the game, and focusing on the Achievements. I think I've got most of the single player ones now. I don't really like the multiplayer Anyway, I can spend hours doing very little in the game; just cruising around... or wreaking havoc on police, or just flying around in a chopper. Great fun.
GTA4 looks better and has WAY better physics. Saints Row 2 is much more fun in some ways however. Everything that's missing in GTA4 is in there. Nevertheless, i finally took the time to finish GTA4 recently, meaning i've played it for a few more hours. After that i went straight back to SR2... I played for about 5 minutes, until i had to stop. I couldn't do it right after GTA4... it just looked really bad (graphics). My friend agreed... right after GTA4, SR2 looks like a joke.

I think i'll have to let some time pass without GTA, so i can eventually go back to SR2 again.

If you put graphics and physics aside, SR2 is a great game.

It's not bullshitting.. it's farfetched, but not totaly out of the equation.. Besides, jetpacks aren't (from what I've heard) that hard to use in RL. Besides, it's a game.

[rant on]Saints Row 2 is totally buggered on PC......I don't think any patch is going to save it, it manage to run slower than vice city and in the same time being 10 times uglier. [/rant off]
