Hello i Have finnaly buyed my new computer which is a Refurbished last years version MacBook Pro lap top with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and a 8800 or 8600 Nividea vid card. Know those mac users here is it possible to run LFS on a mac with out having to boot up windows? Becuase i don't have the money to buy windows yet. I will be useing my current Windows PC to play games on until i get windows vista and can install it on the mac but i was just wondering if its possible to play LFS on a mac.
Nah you need to reboot to Windows really. I think I tried running it in Crossover once and it may have worked, wasn't spectacular though
The latest virtual machines have 3D acceleration support and work ok, although not as good as rebooting into Windows via bootcamp - but either way you need to install a copy of Windows. LFS sits ontop of Windows, whether you reboot via bootcamp or use a virtual machine makes no odds, LFS doesn't run on OSX.
Unless you used OS 10.4 and got Darwine to work. However with the release of Leopard, apple broke OpenGL support with X11, making Darwine useless for any kind of 3d shit.
