Me and a friend from over here in the US are planning a trip over to the other side of the pond in early April. Although I do not race karts, I have done rentals(not the 20 mph ones either) at a couple tracks over here, including 125cc shifter karts one time which was a lot of fun. I figured when I'm over there I'd like to hit up a kart track or two if possible since I imagine you guys have some cool tracks over there. I figured I'd come here for any suggestions you LFSers may have for me as far as tracks go, we're not exactly sure where we'll be but anything in the following areas would be a good start: Southern Sweden, Denmark, Eastern Germany(or maybe anything in Germany), or the Czech Republic. I don't even know how we're going to get around, trains or something probably so near big cities would probably be a plus too, but any suggestions are good.

This also assumes tracks will actually be open in April, I know it will still be cold over here in the US at that time and not much would be open.

While I prefer outdoors, indoors might be OK too, as long as its not some 5 mph electric bumper karts. The "racing karts" for the track he posted look pretty decent.

Thanks for the responses guys. Other thing I'm wondering is, considering all these websites seem to be in languages I do not speak, will I be able to get by just showing up speaking English and do rentals? I don't need any licenses or anything do I? It looks like that one in the Czech Republic you can just show up and drive, and I think we're going to be in Prague anyway so that is a definite possibility.

All of these tracks are English spoken or have someone who speaks it.
In order to drive real competition karts like in Genk. You first need to show that you are capable of driving well.

I've raced over England and France and there aren't many tracks I would say are so great that i'd recommend them over any other. There's a handful i'd say don't bother with (PF International, Peterborough) but only two that stand out.

In England then Milton Keynes has a great track, by far my favorite in the UK especially the shorter config. It was designed by James Hunt as a road test trials course, now used for karting it is a circuit that will challenge and give good racing. Rentals are twin engined 4 stroke honda pro karts.

In France, if you ever get the chance, the Circuit d'Alain Prost ( at the karting corner of the Le Sathe race track ) is the best of the French tracks i've been on. It's a good challenging track with great variety of corners and excellent facilities with the single exception of the toilets, which are best described as "Very French". However the 'public' course is seperate to the event track and i've only driven on the event track. Not sure what the rentals are.

If you can get down to the Paul Ricard kart track in the south of France it's worth a go. I am not sure what corporate events they do down there but the place is just STUNNING to be at. Awesome facilties too - http://www.circuitpaulricard.com/home/home.php?lang=en

The track is reasonable and has some fun bits but just to be at the place in the sun is brilliant.

Oh does this meen they finaly have a licence to run 2 stroke events? I know they had been trying for years but fell prey to urban noise laws.

They've run 2 stroke events there yh. The OEKC go there, which rus Rotax, TKMs etc...

I've been meaning to try Milton Keynes for ages, must get there this year.

It's worth mentioning Buckmore Park and Lydd as well, Buckmore Park in particular, it's an awesome circuit.

hi-jacking this thread, but do any central scottish people know of any decent kart tracks in this kinda area? i usually go to the falkirk indoor track, but for my 18th im planning to go with a few mates to a decent outdoor track with a bit of speed, any reccomendations? im basically in between glasgow and edinburgh, so anywhere about there would be good.

Sounds like the average Karting Track

One of the best RaceKart Tracks I have been at was Benidorm in Spain, its an awesome fast beautiful track, just a couple of hundred meters away from the beautiful beach, and Bruck an der Leitha at the Austrian/Hungary border
