Jailbreaking iPod Touch.
I am thinking of jailbreaking my iPod touch but don't know if I should or not?
Does anyone here have a jailbroken iPod Touch and tell me what it has to offer.

Okay, I will have to go around my mums then and get the 2.2 version update that I bought for my iPod Touch then. Is there a jailbreak version out yet for 2.2?
Yes there is...I jailbroke mine a few days after I got it, had a little fun with some apps and never opened them again...Then the phone started getting buggy and slow, which is something you may get when jailbreaking, so I did a reset and everything is fine.

So do it just for fun it's nothing difficult if you follow the instructions, but you'll eventually see the apps offered are nothing revolutionary, except if you want to use your iPhon as a 3g modem, but eventually you'll get bored of it!
And, of course, you'll lose whatever warranty you have on it. If they discover the jail-breaking that is. I can't see the point. I only use free apps 99.9% of the time, and whilst I'd excitably edit stuff (like a background on the home screen) to begin with after a week or so I'd probably never bother.

Plus, as you know nothing about jailbraking (you haven't even bothered to find out if there is a 2.2 version) I'd suggest it's way beyond your level of competency.

I will try it out Just have to get the 2.2 update from my laptop at my mums house so I can jailbreak it.
Take it 'jailbreaking' is the new term for cracking the OS?
Somehow, with everything sam says in here, I have the terrible feeling it'll end in tears.

Why? I was just asking what it's advantages and disadvantages are basically, so then I can come to a conclusion on whether I should or shouldn't jailbreak my iPod.

You can always reset the iPod, so how will it end in tears.
No specific reason, just a feeling. But don't let that stop you.

Can't help but agree with you there... that's exactly the reason I've not ever bothered jail-breaking my iPhone.

Once jailbroken, can you still use iTunes to put music onto the iPod or not?
See here.
6th entry down... I mean, come on... I know it's a search for "iPhone", but the same applies to the iPod touch.

Honestly Sam what are you doing, are you waiting for an answer that might arrive in time...you know, if you thought about it hard enough you'd realise that the answer to ALL of you questions are just a descriptive search away

eg. Google this I want apples
the result is a list of pages that contain any of those three words in any order BUT!!! if you Google "I want apples" the result is pages with that exact string of words

Sam, stop being lazy and DIY
