Sometimes it's the better person that first attempts to patch up a situation.

Becky, some people think that holding grudges is better than to forget and forgive. And it's these people that are the ones that need a life lesson, because they're wrong (Although they'd never admit it). And especially when (from what I've picked up..) the involved are pretty much all fully grown adults with their own families and the like, makes it even more worrying.

I'm not sure of the past goings on between you two (and "you two" know who they are, and related people/groups), but seriously, is it worth all the snide comments and visible dislike (for want of a better word) for one-another?

After all, we're all sim racing enthusiasts and this is our "online family" within the sim racing world. We need to get along with each other (sure, there will be disagreements, that's inevitable), and the only thing holding grudges does it to cause more drama at a later state. Internet drama does absolutely no good, and it's not as if you see (meet) the people you're communicating with often, if ever. So the very least you can do is be polite to them over the internet, even if not behind their back or in private.

Forgive me if any of you lot feel I've stepped over a line, I'm admittedly talking about something that I haven't looked into much. Hope you don't feel I'm sticking my nose into things that don't concern me..

Becky, honestly I see no reason why a dev would ask you to leave. You've done quite a fair amount in the LFS-world, both by yourself and as part of sub-communities. Frankly, you're an asset to the LFS community

The only ones causing drama are the people living in a twisted reality where mods are somehow a special entity of existence that must not ever show human properties but stay 100% objective, emotionless and professional at all times.

Still, this doesn't justify posting rude and offending posts about a user, and my whole point is that there is a different from a moderator to a ordinary user. Users like you and me will post offending crap most of the time, but a moderator has to think twice before posting.

But again, hiding behind the "I am just a ordinary user, I didn't knew any better" are not right either.

And I am not saying a moderator is perfect, but a moderator should thread anyone equally, even if they are mentally insane. If it's that bad it's better to ban them or remove them sillently, instead of making funny / downtalking remarks for others to see.

And, I have had my share of things in life you wouldn't know off. I am not going to go into details about this, since it's no good for either topic or further discussion, but I'v had my share of shit, both on internet and in real life.

My point is, tho there never will be agreement over internett / forum, we don't need to provoc / stirr up the mood unessesary by going on eachothers with useless offending posting.

Again, this is in general, not pointing the finger here on one specifiq case, lerts case is just one out of many.

I can't recall a moderator calling him mentally insane, so I can't comment on that one. You seem to think he is, but of course you are an ordinary user and don't know any better.

A good point, and I think people should think some extra on that. It's seems it's cool to bash people as long as the mayrity of people has pointed out a person as the black sheep in the crowd.

When that is said, I think that to get to a peace agreement you will need to post the theories a other place Lerts. I'll admit I have had some great moments reading through wormhole racing to ancient civilisations discovery, but this is just not a kind of forum that is up for discussions like that. There are forums out there suitable for discussing this, but here at least it's mostly LFS/racing/computer/game talk.

But please don't drag this into the nice little "it's in human nature to disagree" discussion again, that leads to nothing and benefits no parts what so ever. But as stated over, some people likes to follow the crowd too much, and seems to think it's both fun and cool start posting utterly offending posts if "everyone else" does it. And I hope that moderators will take more actions towards offending users in the future.

If freedom of speech exists, and if it exists here, then surely I should be allowed to call lerts a raving loon with severe mental problems? That would be freedom of speech. Not being allowed to call him that is NOT free speech, it is a form of censorship (probably do to with political correctness, but maybe not).

As this is a privately owned forum we do not have freedom of speech. It's doubtful you'll find anywhere that allows it.

These days people get in a huff if you call someone a paki, even if they come from Pakistan. But they are quite happy to call someone a brit if they come from Britain. Why the double standard? Yet people on both sides of the argument will say to use/not be allowed to use is a violation of human rights and freedom of speech... It's just insane.

I'm sure lerts posted a reply to you mackie but it seems to have been, err, moderated, as it's gone now!

It proves that the mods do go about their business without posting about why they have removed/deleted something, which is fair as they shouldn't really have to explain themselves.
