I need to load my computer in start mode, so i got told to navigate to start > run > msconfig

Then it loads a new box, and im told to go to the BOOT.INI tab, which i dont have.

Is there any other way of getting to restart in safe mode? Or is there any reason i dont have the BOOT.INI tab?

I actually did do a search, came across a Norton advice slip, followed it and didnt work... Was just asking if anyone knew why i didnt have BOOT.INI.

What the hell did you search for?

"How to start windows in safe mode" did the trick.

Just restart the PC, and mash F8 when the BIOS screen comes up. That brings up a list of options (Safe mode, safe mode with networking, command prompt or start normally), and just select normal safe mode. Or if you're feeling particularly 1337, go for the command prompt option. Really impresses the ladies
