Yesterday i wanted to download the FIFA 09 i'd bought from EA Store, and since ive upgraded to Vista since last week i had to re-download the EA Download Manager. On doing this i realised it was a new version and thought it would be better but it seems not. Everytime i try to download FIFA it will kick my sister off the internet and stop me from visiting websites.

Im just wondering could this be something to do with me having Vista Ultimate x64 or could it just be an issue with the program itself.

Is the EA Download manager compatible with Vista 64 bit, Rob? Like did you accidentlaly download a 32bit version?

there is only one download link and even thats in the fine print at the bottom of the language select bit on the EA Download Manager website

All I can think of is to try re-installing the EA downloader thing. I've done a quick google and nothing else is coming up.

ive re-installed it 4 times but it has wanted to install into the "Program Files (x86) which u get when u have Vista. So you have 2 "Program Files" folders but one with (x86) on the end.

It copies the EA manager files into the Program Files (x86) folder since that's a 32-bit program.

Download managers are a pointless waste of computer resources. A hangover from the days of crappy modem conections, yet their use is getting more an more common with software companies. I can onyl assume it's part of the new corporate mentality to infect everyones life with their product.

its annoying, as soon as i either stop or pause the download then the internet on both mine and my sisters pc's will go back to working as normal.

I agree Gezmoor, unfortunatly you have to use it to download the EA stuff.
