Ooooh... I won't be upgrading personally. The [G15] keyboard itself is nice, but the screen is essentially useless. That's not what I bought it for though.
If I had a silly amount of spare cash lying around, I'd buy one because it looks really sexy (for a keyboard, nothing compared to a woman. Well, most of them anyway) and might actually serve a purpose other than looking pretty.
Except a $200 keyboard would be much much nicer to use than a €10 keyboard. Why not go and buy a £1 mouse? It does the same as my £40 MX1000...
I spent more money than average on my keyboard and mouse (£35 Reclusa, and a £40 MX1000 Mouse), but frankly I use my PC most of the time when I'm at home and this kit will last me for years (my mouse has been going for 3 or 4 years now). Same as getting a comfortable chair...
G!nho - Why bother with crossfire? One 4850 plays LFS fine. Heck, my laptop's Intel GMA (just about) plays LFS so wtf did you spend all your cash on?! Why do you have a G25 / DFP? You can get a sidewinder wheel for about a tenner, and it's the same thing basically...
EDIT - On topic - Would love to try one but the price is way to steep and the screen is a bit of a gimmick tbh. Can't wait to borrow one from work though Pefectly happy with my Reculsa though, although wish they keys were more "clicky" like old IBM keyboards or the older Dell OEM keyboards...
Everyone likes a different feel on keyboards - The GF likes a membrane keyboard (I.e. soft-touch on a laptop), whereas I like clunkier keys (because my first keyboard was an IBM keyboard :P) - if i use one then i find it more comfortable and easier to type with.
Screen is a bit useless, but there isn't a G11 rev2 (i.e. the "new" G15 without a screen) so you don't really have much choice.
Would also love to try a "Das Keyboard" at some point (although not for the lack of keys - rather for the quality feel it (should) provide).
i was considering geting a G15 for running keycommands/ botten spaming for games but decided it was easyer and quicker just to script something in a program
Every single time I try a new keyboard I find myself going back to my old, old PS/2 one. You can't beat a proper microswitch under each key for feel. Makes a racket but oh so worth it.
EDIT: Back onto topic. No, I wouldn't buy a keyboard for a screen. I have 2 (rather larger) screens right in front of me, why would I want to divert my vision to look at a third, rather small, one? (That and the cost, the keyboard I have now cost me nothing and feels a hell of a lot better to type on than any other keyboard I've used.)
I just bought a new keyboard. It is a logitech and cost me $10 from walmart. I have to replace it about every 6 months or so because the keys keep getting sticky..
except every single logitech keyboard ive put my finger on has been shit
even and especially compared to some 10-15€ cherrys
nevermind the fact that the g19 is ugly and will make you look like a plonker whos stupid enough to pay 200$ for the right to look like a plonker
or you could pay less than half the price for a cherry g80 which ha exactly the same keys
