F1 Pole Position on the SNES. I never owned it, I couldn't afford games, but each Friday my mum would take us to Global Video in Rutherglen, and tell us we could rent anything we liked. To her dissmay, I would always rent that game, and sit and play it all weekend.
Think my first racing game was on a arcade machine, not sure what kind of game it was, but the first game I do remember I played was Daytona USA and a other indy car game.
I can't really remember it now... but I'm sure it was on that funky SEGA MEGA console or whatever it is. Great times though and lots of fun. 
On PC it was the Motocross Madness 2 I think.

would be Mariokart 64 if that counts, or Cruisin'USA some time later. And i remember some F1 game I played at a friends DOS Pc, which had serveral custom views and a quiet satisfying crash modeling, at least for 8-year olds

Rad Racer on the NES I think. It was close between that and Super Monaco Grand Prix on my mate's Sega Game-Gear
I don't remember the first few games, but the first and biggest one was NFS 1 the original. It was amazing running from the cops in a Diablo. I bought NFS 2 as soon as it arrived in 97 and it was even more amazing. Slightly better physics, so you could wipeout your competition and the McLaren F1 was amazingly cool.
First actual racing game i played was cruising USA at a arcade. Then my parents brought me a mad catz wheel and the first NFS for Sega Saturn. Then i got a PS1 and that 1st racing game was 4x4 hardcore, then i got a PS2 and my first on there was GT 3. I guess my first PC racing game was either Viper Racing or Burnout chapionship drag racing and or NIRA(blames father )

I remember Night Driver, but I never had it. The only games I remember having are Pong, Pole Position and Frogger. Im sure I had more, but I have smoked lots of mary jane since then so I dont remember.

I got it back in 1997 as a "moving house present". My goodness, that game provided entertainment for years. I still have a bit of a craving to play it right now. But it won't work on Vista
Woooww that game was awesome. Looking at some vidos of it on Youtube, I can't quite figure out why, in retrospect, I liked it so much..
