I've just started racing on CTRA servers, I've been playing LFS for about 4-5 Months and I've just upgraded to a G25.

Im struggling on CTRA 1 as it seems race after race in Turn 1, somone always seems not to brake and plows straight in to me or there is a crash in front that I cannot avoid and i spend the rest of the race with a broken car trying to play catch up. is this just me or is it just something that happens alot?

I'm from the UK, and I'm kinda looking for somewhere to hang out maybe with a team.. My two friends that got me into playing LFS have since stopped playing.

Anyone got any advice? I'm not completely hopeless but i'm no Kimi! ;D just looking for some teams to play with and i'm just getting started on the forums!

any thoughts would be cool!

let the noob references commence!

Crta race 1, T1 is always the same mate your best bet is to be right at the front or at the back, if your at the front most the drivers will brake behind you and in front of you while leaving space..

The middle tear of drivers think the race all depends on T1 so they brake as late as possible and forget everyone infront as to brake earlier and earlier as the pack gets tighter..

Just let them come past on there charge to T1 giving you the edge as 9 times out of 10 you can get on the power early and just pick them off one by one.. with your undamaged car.

Race 2 and 3 This isnt really an issue the sooner you get there the better.
Also as you play on race 1 more and more your find players who your remember be fair with them have a good battle there remember you and next time give you the space..

Theres lots of players I no i have good battle with and are given space on race 1. Middle of the pack is a hell hole avoid it at all costs into T1.

Race 1 can be a bit, erm, hectic at times.
Best advice I can give you is to try and predict the accidents and take avoiding action.

Once you get a good laptime set on the server, you will start higher up the grid and should hopefully not be involved in the T1 action as much.

It is worth getting the points on CTRA though, once you are out of Race 1 the other servers are a lot cleaner. Race 1 is the beginner server after all.

If you are looking for somewhere else, try the Dead Men Racing server.
They run one combo for a week, and have an hour long race with forced pit every Thursday (then the combo changes).

There's also Redline Racing servers and Conedodgers, but I think one or both of these will auto kick you if your PB is not within a certain time (I could be wrong here).

Another thing to do is to sign up for a league, there is a Beginners Only Cup but I am not sure if it is running at the moment. Take a look in the leagues section and see if any interest you.

Don't be worried about asking questions, we were all n00bs once
i second everything everyone else has said but i would also like to say that you also have the option of the uf-br server, running restricted ufrs, there great fun and with a good bunch on there can be a great lace to learn and earn points
Hi Tony

Unfortunately crashes happen. Maybe you've been unlucky and suffered more than your fair share, I don't know. What I would say is, crashes either happen because of stupidity on the part of one or both drivers, or because one or both drivers has acted in an unexpected manner.

I would say that you should get back onto CTRA Race 1 and keep driving, keep plugging away at it. AS your skill levels and experience increases, you will be faster and therefore more likely to be further up the grid and therefore in the comapny of better (cleaner) drivers. Also your experience will tell you what type of driver your opponents are. Either you'll have seen them before and know they're lunatics/good drivers/sunday drivers and so be able to predict to some extent what they will do, or you will notice behaviour on the track that will give you an idea of how they might react.

For example, on Race 1, I often see drivers who *ahem* robustly defend.... - when I try to pass they close the door, which is their right, as long as they do it cleanly. Sometimes they're dirty so I report them, sometimes they're clean and we have a good little battle for position.

Try to learn how to set-up your car, this will help you get round the track better and make you faster and therefore you'll be racing in the company of better drivers.

Finally, eventually you'll amass enough points to move up to Race 2! Where I try to hang out if there's anyone on there. Most drivers on here are scrupulously clean drivers. I say most ....

Have fun mate! See you online!
